Tarasenko's weight?

On NHL.com says he 202, on espn 219, Panger says he's 215. Whats his real weight?

closer to the 202. I would guess 205

stlweir 02-18-2013 03:12 PM

I was thinking he looked lighter. Not looking like a Tank.

CarvinSigX 02-18-2013 03:52 PM

There's no way he's 6'0" either.

I thought that's what he measured at the NHL combine in 2010. :dunno:

CarvinSigX 02-18-2013 04:39 PM

I don't know...My opinion is that a lot of players listed 6' or less are incorrect. Tarasenko isn't that much taller than McDonald. Having stood next to Andy, I'd say Tarasenko is more like 5'9.5" or so. McDonald is only 5'7" or 5'8" if I had to guess.

Unless the NHL Combine isn't as accurate as we all think, or if there are conspiracies to make the listed height taller than the actual height, he is 6'0.

I'm just saying that the same people who say Tarasenko is 71-72 inches are the same people who say McDonald is 70 inches. I'm 71.5 inches tall and I was noticeably bigger than Andy.

Edit: Not that all of this matters that much, I'm just throwing it out there. I do a lot of woodworking in my spare time, so I'm pretty good with measurements. All of my friends that are shorter than me say I'm 73 inches, but they just want to believe that they're above the 5'9" average.

amac 5'11" official so 6' not a hard thing to believe

I'd say somewhere around 205, if he's heavier than that he must have some muscle hiding under those pads, because he doesn't look like he weighs that much.

I just don't believe that Andy McDonald is as tall as 5:11. I think 5:10 is stretching him almost a half inch. I'd guess he's a hair short of 5:10. and Tarasenko is 5:11+ maybe a half inch (at most).

Well I am 5'10" & he is taller then I am....stood next to him;)

If that's really true, then McDonald probably IS 5:11, and then Tarasenko must actually be 6 feet tall.

Nah, cuz I'm taller than McDonald. Maybe Frank is actually 5'11" and it doesn't show.

TK 421 02-19-2013 08:54 PM

6'0, 210.5 at the draft combine and commentary that he was really cut/in shape looking at that weight(one comment had him as the most cut stature wise). He's probably within a couple of lbs. of that either way. I'd go with Robb's estimate of 208 as his minimum and a 212 max.

Renard 02-28-2013 08:41 AM

The guy in the pink shirt holding the teddy bear does not weigh as much as 200 pounds. Maybe it is an old picture, but if it is current, he's about 190. If hockey players only had to go through a weigh-in process, like boxers.

I will defer to people who have met and stood next to Andy MacDonald, but when he is on the ice near other players, he looks to be Martin St. Louis size. (St. Louis is listed at 5'8" on the NHL website.)

kimzey59 02-28-2013 09:54 AM

The Blues hold "official" weigh in's during Training camp every year.
Panger's 215 is probably the most accurate number given that he has access to the Blues official weigh in figures.

mizzoublues29 02-28-2013 11:00 AM

According to wiki...47.5 metric tons...roughly 103,000 lbs. It's a heavy tank.

Nope, not the same people. Tarasenko was measured by independent doctors at the NHL Combine in 2010 and came in at 6'0" and 210.5 lbs. McDonald/the Blues can put his numbers at pretty much whatever they want. It's pretty common that shorter/lighter players will be more likely to exaggerate their numbers than average to bigger sized players. The Combine stats are known to be pretty accurate and you will see a lot of measurements that are 1-2 inches shorter and 10-25 lbs lighter than what a lot of kids are listed at with their Jr/Euro teams. They measure to the quarter inch and really scrutinize possible cheating - I remember a story where a shorter player tried to add some height by wearing 4-5 pairs of thick socks. The docs made him take the socks off. ;). For the record, Schwartz measured in at that same combine at 5'9.75". So the 5'10" he's listed at is pretty accurate as 1/4 of an inch is hardly anything. I don't remember what he weighed in at but I want to say it was around 173. Schwartz has bulked up significantly since then, probably around 190 now. The bottom line is that these measurements were done by independent doctors, not team officials so they're a lot harder to exaggerate. 210-215 lbs for Tarasenko seems reasonable just looking at him IMO.
