Luke Adam to WPG

I'm just curious, what do you think he would cost?

gdsmack267 02-19-2013 07:20 AM

I have season tickets to the Amerks and watch him play a lot. He isnt even worth a 7th round pick. He is just ungodly slow, and only has one move as he enters the zone. Its dreadfull when he is on the ice because unless a shot is bouncing off his ass there is little chance that he is creating offense on his own.

IceCapsFanNL 02-19-2013 07:33 AM

Wow,

Sad to see him fall so far.

I guess he's not an option for a team wanting more offence:laugh:

Good luck this season

Fire Shero* 02-19-2013 07:38 AM

Yea why would the jets trade for Adam? They already used their 7th pick to acquire Tangradi who is only slightly better than Adam.

IceCapsFanNL 02-19-2013 07:41 AM

I'm looking for players for our AHL team. Adam is from here, might liven up the rest of the home games which have been snoozers lately. From what I hear, he's not what we need.

Yea he defiantly wont liven anything up with energy. Every like 8-10 games he gets a nice snipe though. There is a reason Buffalo sent him down last season and never called him back up.

He has skill......his confidence got shot by Ruff so the kid needs a change of scenery bigtime.

Does winnipeg have a similar player who had potential but now needs a change of scenery?

I dont know what the rules are in the AHL on leasing players to another team for the season. Playing closer to home may actually help him.

Sabreality 02-19-2013 11:51 AM

Machecek

Schiestel was given to another team last year (was it Houston?), so it could definitely be done. As bad as Adam has struggled, I don't think the organization is as down on him as Schiestel though.

As has been mentioned, Spencer Mahachek, or Ben Maxwell

Texas.

I proposed Cormier for Adam straight up over the summer and most fans from both sides didn't mind it. I still want Cormier.

Spencer Mahachek got quite a few points in his limited time in Wpg last season. Didnt get to stay up this season so he's probably unhappy with the situation and would be well served with a trade.

Timbo Slice 02-19-2013 05:32 PM

I would kill for a Cormier for Adam deal.

Machacek was on waivers already this season and wasn't claimed so I'd assume he holds very little trade value at this point.

I haven't kept track of Cormier at all this season. Last time I heard, he was also having some trouble like Adam and I don't know if he's regressed even further like Adam seems to have. Judging by him not making the team again this season I'd say he isn't doing as well as the Jets hoped or otherwise he'd probably be up in Winnipeg by now.

I thought it made sense for both teams. I've always liked Cormier and at the time the Jets were in need of top-six centers/center prospects. This was before they signed Jokinen though IIRC and now that Adam is probably even worse (anyone know if he's been playing center or wing in Rochester?) the Jets probably aren't interested for those reasons even if Cormier's value's low now too.

uncleben85 02-19-2013 07:37 PM

This actually seems like a good fit for him to me...
Cormier?

Cormier was injured for most of the season and I don't think he started playing again until after Christmas. Not putting up much numbers wise (but the entire team is bad). I don't think he's quite out of the Jets plans yet.

Adam doesn't have much value himself. If he was waiver eligible, he'd probably clear as well.

LimpDave 02-19-2013 10:35 PM

Adam will be a nice piece from the sabres enabling them to get a good rental player...if the Jets aren't likely to make the playoffs i could see Hainsey moving for Adam.

The Sabres probably won't be in the playoff race either, so I doubt Adam will be used to acquire a veteran at the deadline.

IceCapsFanNL 02-20-2013 04:54 AM

I'd say they'd move Mahachek, Maxwell, or Macenauer. Not sure they have given up on Cormier. I wouldn't move Cormier for Adam

I could see the Jets doing this. Some Jets fans are clinging to the idea that Cormier may turn into something but his waiver situation is going to drop his value significantly next season and he's running out of time to earn an opportunity, let alone a spot.

Bleh. If the Jets are out of it and they're moving Hainsey they'll get a lot more than Adam. If Hainsey's available at the deadline he'll be, far and away, the best rental defenceman available.
