What happens first the Islanders win a Playoff Series or Canadian team wins the Cup?

1993 was the last year that either of these things happened

So who breaks the streak first

I'd argue the Canucks (or other Canadian team) is a lot closer than the Islanders are.

How about just a single playoff win for the Islanders?

billybudd 02-19-2013 11:40 PM

Haha.

If Wang's really selling the team, I would be surprised if the Islanders don't, at least, make the playoffs inside 2 years of that happening. Once there upsets can happen.

Only Canadian team with the look of a Contender in the near future are the Canucks and, in a vacuum, 1/16 odds are longer than ~1/4 (making the playoffs and winning a round).

Islanders win a round I say.

as far as statistics are concerned, it'd be easier for the Isles, but if Wang wants to sell off again then I'll give some Canadian teams a few more years

Islesin93* 02-19-2013 11:45 PM

Islanders won a few playoff games in the last 10 years

But I dont see them ever winning a playoff series again

So the answer is a Canadian team will win the Cup

OmniSens 02-19-2013 11:45 PM

Canadians win first.

Ever? Like not in the next 100 years?

The Islanders will win a Playoff Series before a Canadian Team wins the Cup, 1993 and counting.

Vankiller Whale 02-20-2013 03:06 PM

What does "none of the above" mean? No Canadian team wil ever win the cup again and the Islanders never win a playoff series?

Okay then...

Okay then...

Or maybe it means the Islanders move to Quebec and then win the Cup as a Canadian team. :sarcasm:

In a vacuum it would be 7/30 for Canada (possibly 8/30 soon) against 8/30 for the Islanders. 1 of 30 teams wins the cup and there are 7 Canadian teams. 8 of 30 teams win at least 1 playoff round and there is 1 Isle team.

They will be merged into a division with the Tokyo Katanas lead by Taro Tsujimoto VIII, 12 time Hart trophy winner. :sarcasm:
