iginla and tanguay to pittsburgh

calgary needs to rebuild. what would pittsburgh give up to have them. picks, blue chips and cgy would take a cap dump

tanguay/crosby/iginla
kunitz/malkin/neal

first two lines look good
also best chance for iginla to get a cup

We don't need both. We only need one.

Not sure you have the pieces to trade for both

Manked 02-21-2013 05:07 PM

For both? That's a pretty damn hefty price tag.

Sure they do, Crosby and Malkin.

yes it is. if we rebuild just as well to get max return.

Dying Alive 02-21-2013 05:12 PM

I seriously doubt the Pens would be interested in giving up what it would take to get both.

Again, we only need one winger, not two. We have the pieces for one - certainly.

No offense, if you wanted a max return, you should have traded Iggy last year. His value isn't as high now as what it was last year.

We probably do. We have Pouliot, Morrow, Despres, Dumoulin, and Maatta and our full complement of draft picks. I'm sure something could be worked out amongst all that for Iggy and Tanguay.

I doubt the Pens would be willing to pay the price it would take to get both, though.

Winreims 02-21-2013 05:20 PM

Gotta admit, Tanguay AND Iginla on that Pens team would be pretty lethal!

Lord Flacko* 02-21-2013 05:23 PM

2013 1st, Dumoulin, Pouliot, Kennedy is probably fair value

Wingsfan2965* 02-21-2013 05:48 PM

I'm quite certain that Shero has heard of this thing called the Salary Cap, so there's no way that both would go to Pittsburgh.

Iggys value is a low first rounder. Tanguay doesnt seem to play well anywhere else other than Calgary.

I know flames fans are trying to sell off everything and anything to restock their talent pool.

Tell you what. Canucks will take Iggy , Kipper , Bouwmeester and every other overpaid malcontent you got.

In return you shall get full value.

Vancouvers overpaid malcontents.

Booth, Ballard, Luongo and the rights to Malholtra.

deal?

domaug* 02-21-2013 06:17 PM

IMO the Pens don't have enough pieces that they'd be willing to give up to get both Iginla and Tanguay. they certainly have the pieces to get one, but not both.

FLAMES666 02-21-2013 06:33 PM

To Pitts:
Iginla
Sarich
4th rounder

To Cal:
1st rounder 2013
Bennett
Harrington
Kennedy

He's got more value than 1st. I'd hazard a guess, he'd fetch a 1st + strong prospect at the least.

Joe Sakic 02-21-2013 06:38 PM

Would love to see Iginla and Crosby re-united on a line...they were so dangerous and thrilling to watch in 2010.

They even combined to beat USA in the gold medal game

And then when the cap drops by $6M next year you can enjoy that debacle.

Not bad value realistically, but I am not keen on giving up our only wing prospect. We have a logjam at D as is right now so no need for Sarich.

To Pit:
- Iginla
- Stempniak
- 2013 4th

To Cgy:
- Olli Maatta
- 2013 1st
- Matt Niskanen
- Tyler Kennedy

Personally I would rather take Harrington over Maata. Calgary doesn't really need a guy like Niskanen. I just thought Sarich would be a good addition for Pittsburgh especially in playoffs. He would be a good physical guy to have and an upgrade over Engelland. I honestly don't think Calgary bites unless their getting a good young forward back to.

There really isn't any good young forward to give.
