No stoppage for prospects; Flyers like what they see
While questions remain about what eventually will happen to the unsigned picks when the lockout ends, the Flyers will retain their rights, according to the NHL.
NHL executive vice president Bill Daly quelched the speculation.
"Clubs will retain the rights to all players as to who had rights at the time of the lockout," Daly said. "As it relates to NHL clubs, their rights to players are totally as defined by the collective bargaining process. No club is in danger of losing rights to a player due to the passage of time. The same is true with players eligible for the draft this year."
A good article, thanks for the heads up.
The article lists Rosie as 23, that's his number not his age. He's actually just turned 20.
Leafs fans should be checking this out.....
"Curran [Carter's agent] will argue that if the league can freeze the NHL rights for the teams that drafted them, then the players' rights also should be frozen and they should be signed under the terms of the last CBA. That likely will not happen. But it won't change the fact that Carter wants to be a Flyer, Curran said.
"I think we're all on the same page that he will eventually be a Flyer," he said."
End of discussion.
ya, gotta love them leaf fans
