Taylor Hall Suspension - 2 games

Bob Mckenzie stated this am, there is a phone hearing for Hall for his knee-on-thigh hit with Cal Cutterbuck in last nights game against Minnesota.

He predicted 2-3-4 games. Justified if this is the case?

as an aside issue, Hall is the type of power player that likes to finish his checks, but this team seems to show its immaturity and inexperience at the most inopportune times. The game is out of reach at the time of the hit, why not make a statement earlier in the game? Is this an issue of veteran leadership, or lack thereof? Eager was banging, and now oilers will be without Hall for who knows?

I am the Liquor 02-22-2013 10:02 AM

3 games. And yes he deserves it.

Redwood Original 02-22-2013 10:05 AM

2 games.

Jepprey 02-22-2013 10:06 AM

2 or nothing for my guess.

Turrican* 02-22-2013 10:07 AM

1 game or nothing.

More of a karma hit for Clutterface.

oilphan 02-22-2013 10:09 AM

It was definitely not a "knee" imo. But Lowetide had is right...it was definitely a "clip".

44.1 Clipping - Clipping is the act of throwing the body, from any direction, across or below the knees of an opponent.
A player may not deliver a check in a “clipping” manner, nor lower his own body position to deliver a check on or below an opponent’s knees.
An illegal “low hit” is a check that is delivered by a player or goalkeeper who may or may not have both skates on the ice, with his sole intent to check the opponent in the area of his knees. A player may not lower his body position to deliver a check to an opponent’s knees.

So next time, instead Hall should just hit high and take the head?

On ice call seems enough. Won't complain if it's a game or two.

worraps 02-22-2013 10:15 AM

At least 2 games.

The league doesn't wanting him scoring another hat-trick against Chicago with their streak on the line. :sarcasm:

pox 02-22-2013 10:16 AM

1 and that to much.. it was a hip check gone wrong, dont get me wrong he was looking to blow Cluterbuck up which i would love to see, but Hall just doesnt have the experance to hit that well just yet

Musashi 02-22-2013 10:18 AM

I'm thinking 2 or 3 and deservedly so

jumptheshark 02-22-2013 10:21 AM

my guess is five

Victorious Secret 02-22-2013 10:25 AM

One game (90%). Three at the most(10%).

oil slick 02-22-2013 10:25 AM

I'm guessing 2-3.

Psycho Dad 02-22-2013 10:26 AM

No suspension, just a warning/fine. It wasn't a true blindside hit, nor a blatant knee.

If Hall gets more than one game for a hit on the thigh, I really need to think about why I watch this sport anymore.

CantHaveTkachev 02-22-2013 10:27 AM

3 games

Aerchon 02-22-2013 10:31 AM

Are you guys on crack???

Taylor Hall did not stick his leg out. His leg was out and he leaned in with his shoulder to hit. No intention to make leg contact.

Knee on knee requires some knee contact from both players... not high thigh.

There is no reason this should be a suspension.

Because it looks like Cal is injured maybe one game to keep Hall responsible for his... thigh...

The elbow to the back of the head was viscious and intentional. And it only got one game.

CupofOil 02-22-2013 10:33 AM

3 games and i'm in the "He Deserves It" camp.

Crobby 02-22-2013 10:35 AM

He will get 3 games.

MikeModano9 02-22-2013 10:36 AM

8-10k fine or 1 game is my guess.

Turrican* 02-22-2013 10:37 AM

The more he pays in fines and gets suspended, the more he evolves into Messier...

Hall likes to finish his checks? He's thrown a whopping 10 hits all year.

Johnny Bravo 02-22-2013 10:41 AM

2 games.

Hopefully Yakupov gets time on the top line now.

Insta 02-22-2013 10:43 AM

Probably 2 games, maybe 3.

CornKicker 02-22-2013 10:44 AM

none if giordano doesnt get suspended for a brutal slew foot 3' from the board hall will get a fine and thats it.

s7ark 02-22-2013 10:44 AM

1 game or a fine and nothing is what it should be. But with our luck the league will give Hall 4.
