Whitfield comes full circle for 1,000th game

A nice article on AHL.com regarding Trent Whitfield playing his 1,000th professional hockey game.

Looks like he may have a future in coaching when he hangs up the blades.

good for him.

he does everything that is asked of him as a player. He played ok for us when he was up.

I'd of urinated on a light socket to play 1000 games of professional hockey.

Congrats, Trent.

Good for Trent... A good guy .....

Congratulations to Trent Whitfield. It takes serious love of the game to play about 950 minor league games. With that kind of committment, I would not be surprised if he breaks into coaching.

1000 pro games the hard way. Good on him.

Schmautzie 02-24-2013 05:48 PM

I got so annoyed with the posters who were disparaging him when the Bruins gave him a Cup ring. He deserved it.

Ladyfan 02-24-2013 05:49 PM

That is excellent. He must love hockey.

not suprising the Providence Bruins are aruguably the best team in the AHL since the lockout ended- this guy plays a big role with the kids down there

nice guy, hope he is still getting a paycheck in hockey 25 years from now

he's a winner

I was at that game. Lots of guys had these pre-recorded messages that played during the intermissions, it was great to see all the people who respect this guy and wished him well.

Congrats Trent! I got killed for it last year but god forbid Bergy goes down, Whitfield is the guy I want taking his place.

trenton1 02-24-2013 08:11 PM

A true pro. Congrats to him.

The only thing that could get me to remotely care about the AHL All-Star Game was his tying it with 4 minutes left.

We love ya, Trent.

I was there too, it was a really nice thing to see. Great little ceremony for him, too.
