Former Leaf draft picks sit 7th and 19th in playoff scoring.

Jonathan Hedstrom and Janne Gronvall.

so, steen chooses to leave frolunda and to go modo. on the modo team, he is reduced to a fringe role because the team is "stacked" with nhlers. and modo is knocked out early in the playoffs.

and now frolunda is in the sel finals.

looks like steen and his agent aren't too sharp. :shakehead

Steen wanted to play in MoDo because of his friends playing there. Tobias Enstrom for example, drafted by Atlanta Thrashers.

so he wanted to play with his friends and with forsberg.

and he was willing to sacrifice his developement for that? that's a dumb decision. not sure how i'd have to eat those words. it looks very black and white to me.

major setback in his development for frivolous reasons.

Steen already has a championship under his belt, playing with forsberg, naslund, and friends was and is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

seems obvious. he played on a line with crap players, according to you, and was stuck behind all those guys who he wanted to play with so badly, and reduced to a third line checking role.

and modo is gone early in the playoffs, while his old team is on its way to the finals.

if you don't see that as a setback, you're in denial.

How many prospects spend a full season with Peter Forsberg, learning new things in games and practice?

That outweighs everything negative you say.

we don't know if he learned anything from forsberg. but if he did, was it stuff he couldn't have learned from daniel alfredsson?

major negatives for steen this year. huge setback for him.

Dan Alfredsson joined Frolunda late in the season, same time Naslund did. So Steen had Naslund + Forsberg on the same team for a while, and then Naslund when Forsberg went down.

Major negatives on the stat sheet, yes... if you don't know the situation and who was on his team.

So who had more points than he did on that team?

so basically that's a wash. a huge stretch to say it was worth learning anything from forsberg. unless he learned how to get hurt? :lol

if so, he could gotten those lessons from carlo! :lol

negatives on the stats sheet. negatives in ice time, and for sure key minutes of ice time. negatives in leaving a good team for a not so good team. its bad all around.

You do realize Steen would probably be in a very similar role had he stayed in Frolunda. Loui Eriksson, the guy who won ROY last year, has been relegated to just being an extra forward so far in the playoffs. Thats how stacked Frolunda is.
