Players you wish your team never acquired

I was watching the Canuck/Coyote game with a couple friends tonight and we started to talk about players we wished we never acquired (either by trade or free agency).

The player I immediately thought of was Jan Bulis, was one of the laziest players on the ice and was completely disinterested except for two or three games all year.

So my question to all of you, who do you wish never joined your team? With the caveat that the player is no longer on your roster.

Below is one of the most frustrated plays he made with the Canucks. I should add that Dallas scored on the resulting powerplay and then won it in overtime.

Easy answer for all Wild fans: Cam Barker. Awful player and we gave up some kid named Nick Leddy to get him.

Pilney21 02-26-2013 09:57 PM

For the Wild, Cam Barker...

Kyle Quincey. I sure as hell would rather of had our first round pick last year than KFQ.

At least Lebda was flipped/used as a trade asset for Franson.

Tim man Connolly, or Mike Komisarek.

Ladislav Nagy, or Jeff Woywitka. Whichever. Nagy hurts worse cause it involved sending our 1st to Phoenix.

Good moment in Hawk history

I haven't watched the Hawks for more than 4-5 years, but Marty Turco is pretty far up there. Not to mention I think we're still paying Cristobal Huet's salary. Fat lot of nothing that guy got us, but he did play okay for a little while. Turco was just bad.

Also, Rostislav Olesz. Currently residing in the AHL, former 7th overall pick, makes $3m a year. Played a few games for the Hawks, was completely invisible. Even if we bury him in the A, having to look at his contract again every season wasn't worth the $4m in cap space we got for trading Brian Campbell.

Dan Cloutier and nobody else comes close. The whole sideshow was an embarrassment.

Kris versteeg, guy totally ruined our chemistry in 10-11 and though its probably a coincidence, we were AWFUL after we trased for him.

muskratBear 02-26-2013 10:06 PM

As a Sens fan I was gutted when we acquired Heatley for Hossa. Even Heatley's 50 goal seasons did not change the way I felt. I absolutely loved the way Hossa played (and still plays).

Currently on the Sens I wish we passed on Lundin. Hasn't played that well and has been passed on the D pecking order by pretty much every AHL callup.

MadhouseOnMadison 02-26-2013 10:07 PM

In recent history? Chris Campoli. No explanation needed.

Todd Bertuzzi the guy is a POS.
