Iginla to Hawks at deadline

What would it take?

1st, McNeil?

1st is wayyyy too much, with only 30 games left to his contract you're not gotta get much for him (concidering the fact that he'll go free agent and that he won't sign with Calgary)

If the Flames aren't even close to a playoff spot at the trade deadline and Iggy wants to move for a chance to win a cup - this deal would be more than acceptable in my opinion as a Flames fan.

Whether Chicago agrees is another question but they would have some sick forward lines with Iggy. Seems like the greater need in Chicago though would be a Center.

Definitely a trade that makes sense from both ends. While Iginla's value is clearly more to Calgary than to other teams, realistically a 1st, and may contingent 2nd/3rd should get it done

The Hawks don't need a center. Per say, the need a guy who will take draws and at least not be completely terrible at it. Iginla does that

No it's not. Especially Chicago's 1st which will likely be mid to low twenties.

He is a RW.
Never ever played center.

The Hawks are not trading their first as they don't want to punt a entire draft.

Chris Hansen 02-27-2013 11:13 AM

Iginla's not really worth it with Kane and Hossa already on the team. Having one of those three on the third line isn't worth it.

Yeah, unless Iginla can hold his own on left wing, this makes no sense for the Hawks.

Hawkaholic 02-27-2013 12:14 PM

I would gladly take him, if it didn't cost a 1st or any of our top 5 prospects.

Penosity 02-27-2013 12:18 PM

Unless Hossa or Kane get injured, what would be the point of adding another RW?

Hossa
Kane
Stalberg
Frolik

Where would you put Iginla?

Uh, I know that but he takes a ton of draws already.

When they dress mayers he's really not playing center but he's taking draws. Because Kruger Bolland and Shaw kinda stink at it.

Ahead of Stalberg who maybe even flipped in a package for Iginla. Since he's likely gone at the end of year like Iginla.

That would be a huge score for Calgary, and they may get something similiar for Iggy. However probably won't be from the hawsk due to their depth at RW.

Blackhawkswincup 02-27-2013 01:10 PM

Can Iggy play LW?

If so then a package built around several prospects like Olsen/Morin/Pirri would be possibly acceptable risk for Hawks

this. I think it may be OK to give up a 1st, but not much added if anything...

That would be insanely bad for the Hawks.

Domino11 02-27-2013 01:59 PM

My gess would be 1 round pick + morin/lalonde vs iginla ... From an outsider it seem fair

rockinghockey 02-27-2013 02:07 PM

I think that it is a pretty fair deal.

HockeySensible 02-27-2013 02:13 PM

Chicago will be trading for a centre, if they trade for anyone.

ex. Mayers, Bollig, Bickell

DontToewzMeBro 02-27-2013 02:16 PM

Iginla is decent on draws

Carcillo/saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Iginla-Kane
Saad-Bolland-Stalberg
Shaw/Carcillo-Kruger-Bickell
