obviously the west teams could be pre-scouting for games, but when east teams are around could mean trade talks are on

Seems like Bruins scouts are everywhere lately.

Something's ah-brewin' in Boston.

w e l o s t b o y s 03-01-2013 08:25 PM

So does confirm that Carolina was scouting Phoenix more so than Minnesota when their scouts were at the Yotes Wild game but aren't at this one? Or am I reading in to this too much?

SEALBound 03-01-2013 08:33 PM

I could see all those teams wanting Setoguchi.

1972 03-01-2013 08:38 PM

Sabres have had numerous scouts at Ducks games for the last few weeks, I have a feeling the Ducks have interest in 2 Sabres in particular, Regehr and Leopold.

thepootamis 03-01-2013 08:39 PM

Bruins are looking for a big name player. wonder who they are scouting

I doubt it, those trades don't happen much if at all during the season.

Marlowe Syn 03-01-2013 08:45 PM

Corey Perry I'm sure

Part has to do with newly hired Western scout John Van Boxmeer

EveryDay 03-01-2013 09:39 PM

Why Sheldon Souray is scratch tonight?

Billy Mays Here 03-01-2013 09:44 PM

I never look into scouts at games at all because they never mean anything.

Dellstrom 03-01-2013 09:48 PM

Bruins are definitely interested in Perry if he is/going to be available. Even though Chiarelli isn't into huge trades unless they're necessary, like the Kessel one, he pulled off the Kaberle one which (was supposed to) fill a huge hole in our lineup, and I think he learned his lesson last year.

We could have used a goal scorer like Perry big time when every single playoff game was low-scoring and decided by one goal. Can you imagine a Lucic-Krejci-Perry line? They'll piss you off as much as they'll score...

Only problem is the cap hit. Teams would probably be willing to give him 7-8. We have the cap for him no problem next year, if Horton/Boychuk/both are included we can probably extend him. If we have no chance to extend him, then we're not interested.

Ducks have a pretty ridiculous March schedule (and half of April)...they have 7 NHL defensemen, so someone will get a breather each game.

Bobby Smash 03-01-2013 09:51 PM

Just curious how do people know scouts are in the arena and their teams? And do they buy a ticket and sit in the stands?

Perhaps a ploy by Anaheim to make other teams think Perry will be available?

Likely? Where do you get that from? Besides HF posters dreaming about their fantasy trade.

Gliff 03-01-2013 09:53 PM

Lovejoy has been more then we could ever ask from for a #7 and it has allowed us to give our defenders a break. Souray is no spring chicken.

Dellstrom 03-01-2013 09:53 PM

Also, someone in the Bruins forum pointed out Matt Cullen. He'd be a perfect fit on our 3rd line and he's definitely a Chiarelli-type player.

DuckEatinShark 03-01-2013 09:58 PM

Since Anaheim has a comfortable lead in the Pacific, they wouldn't ship out Perry, Getzlaf, Beauchemin, etc. That must mean the scouts are most likely there for Hiller (dunno if he's starting tonight or not), or a Minnesota player.

Players like Cullen, Clutterbuck, Setoguchi, Brodziak and any defenseman not named Suter are possible trade baits.

Newly appointed captain and one of Buffalo's best players night in and out? Oh yeah definitely. :dunce:

Me thinks Perry and Setoguchi are the two to watch. Don't know how people feel about Clutterbuck, maybe him

Hiller is playing tonight, yes. Anaheim plays Phoenix tomorrow, and I'd expect Fasth to start that game.

scouts are at every game
