Things the NHL forgot to tell the Hawks heading into the season...

example:

You don't have to get the typical 90ish points this year to get into the playoffs.

Go....

MurrayBannerman 03-04-2013 01:29 AM

Patrick Kane is only worth David Krejci

RFIP 03-04-2013 05:57 AM

Stalberg is waste.

They also forgot to tell Bowman to use a buyout on Hossa.

I can't believe that was a real suggestion on here.

EDIT: Stupid phone

1. Every player on your team needs to be a star
2. Every team has holes that need to be filled in order to win

The season isn't single elimination.

I don't think anyone suggested they do this immediately. I think it was suggested that the Hawks leave all options on the table. Nobody knows what is going to happen between now and the summer of 2014.

The fact that is was even spoken of is ridiculous. If Hossa is in traction, would we eventually use the buyout on him? Well, duh, sure. Otherwise, he'll stay.

It has been a topic for the last 2-3 years though, trading Hossa, buying out Hossa. It's never made sense.

Hawkaholic 03-04-2013 10:41 AM

Most of the talk was if Hossa suffered another concussion, or if he didn't return to the same player he was. No one wanted to buy him out if he was the same player with no further concussions/health problems.

That is exactly right.
