Fire Kevyn Adams!

Good:

3 out of 4 points in a back to back. I'll take it. :handclap:
Hecht-Grigs-Staff looked good again.
Miller, aside from the 5-on-3 and shootout.

Bad:

RJ and Rayzor constantly calling Rick Nash Steve Nash.

Ugly:

The Power Play.
Kaleta's hit on Richards.
The Power Play.
Girardi's hit on Ennis.
The Power Play.
Kaleta thread on the main board.
The Power Play.
Richards selling the hit.
Did I mention the Power Play?

Awesome to see multi-sport talent Steve Nash tonight. Really special.

Good -

- Better team speed, even in a 3-games-in-4-nights situation
- Gerbe's shorty
- What I saw of the game, really liked Weber again tonight. Simple, effective.

Bad -

- Kaleta's play was stupid and cost them 2 goals.
- Miller biting on Callahan's fake AGAIN.

Ugly -

- How Richards hit the boards. Glad the guy is ok.
- No consistency in the officiating again.
- With or without Vanek, the powerplay has been terrible for weeks. Time for a new voice there as well.
- Owned at the dot again. 36% for the night? Terrible.

   This. how the heck does he find the time to train so hard for TWO professional sports???

wshahbaz 03-03-2013 09:20 PM

I just realized that the Bruins only have two losses in regular time and the Sabres are responsible for both of them

MyersMagic57* 03-03-2013 09:20 PM

G:
3-0-1 in last 4
Gerbe and Ott on that play
Grigs looked good

B:
Our powerplay
Richards acting
Torts coaching
Rick Nash

U:
Kaleta hit from behind - 5 mins + misconduct (Richards played dead basically)
Ennis gets hit from behind - only 2 minutes penalty gets up right away
Its clear that the refs show bias based on injury in these penalties and that inconsistency cost us the extra point.

that gerbe goal felt great

And he is a great soccer player too :laugh::laugh:

By the way, James Patrick can't be worse at teaching pp, he was a decent pp guy at his prime !!!!

5 Minute Major 03-03-2013 09:21 PM

G: the team is playing with a little swagger. That's huge.

vcv 03-03-2013 09:21 PM

Just saw the Kaleta hit for the first time. Already saw the Girardi hit on Ennis as well.

I 100% expected to be disgusted by the Kaleta hit. I was ready.

But what I saw? WHAT A ****ING JOKE. Don't get me wrong, that SHOULD be called and he should get maybe a game. But there are hits worse than that EVERY GAME that aren't called or are weak 2 minute calls.

The Girardi hit on Ennis was a lot harder, but the Kaleta hit on Richards looked so bad because Richards was headed straight to the boards already.

God damn.

sba 03-03-2013 09:21 PM

G: They're entertaining again.

U: The PP good lord is it bad

Yes it did.

G-
7 of 8 points
Team has looked gritty the last couple games
Rolston must be doing SOMETHING right
Ott with another solid game
Grigorenko looking better
Ehrhoff looked mostly good

B-
PP is putrid
Kaleta

U-
The hit on Ennis
The hit on Richards

CrankyJay 03-03-2013 09:24 PM

G: Ott...he seems to be one of those players that makes other players around him better.

New Sabres Captain 03-03-2013 09:25 PM

G: Sekera.

Dude was beasting tonight....loved his play. Whether it was Nash, Gaborik, Richards, Hagelin...he was picture perfect tonight. The rest of the D was pretty solid too, but Sekera needs extra props.

5 Minute Major 03-03-2013 09:26 PM

Also, they are playing a hell of a lot better in their own zone. What did they give up, 26 shots tonight? Season low?

HogtownSabresfan 03-03-2013 09:26 PM

They need to fix this PP. Major problem is losing face off. You can lose 20 to 30 per cent of time that way

I gotta be honest.....

My son is ALWAYS correcting me when I refer to Rick Nash as Steve.

I never make that mistake with Staal's though---and they're all in the same sport!

HogtownSabresfan 03-03-2013 09:27 PM

Speaking of Ott, he's showing way more leadership on ice since Ruff left...it seems that way to me

Timbo Slice 03-03-2013 09:27 PM

G:

We're back in this playoff race

B:

We lost a point to a team ahead of us

U:

Kaleta's hit. Wasn't as bad as some will say, but it was certainly stupid, dirty, and selfish. Cost us the game.

New Sabres Captain 03-03-2013 09:28 PM

Any chance they can get Teppo to coach the PP? He was a pretty good PP guy in his own right. 40-234-274 career stats on the PP.

God damn.

If Richards is against the glass, it's basically a pin out against the boards. But he was in that 4-5' area and fell so awkwardly. The penalty severity is probably due both to it being Kaleta and Richards being down, but it was still a dangerous play. That said, why Richards is bent over and so easily off balance that close to the boards after playing this game for nearly 30 years is also something to wonder at. Protect yourself guys, do what they teach 4-year olds.

Chainshot 03-03-2013 09:30 PM

Being a good PP coach doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being a good PP player.
