Gotta love Saad

The Jets have experienced as many regulation losses in the past 4 days as Johnny Oduya has since been traded...over a year ago! #JetsFact

That's ****ed up.

HockeySensible 03-05-2013 10:25 PM

I'm too mad about all the faceoffs lost to "love" anything at the moment.

Blue Liner 03-05-2013 10:26 PM

I consider myself to be a pretty level-headed sports fan but this is getting downright comical.

BronYrAur 03-05-2013 10:27 PM

Only means we are due for another 9-game losing streak. Anyone even remember that??

March of the Cup year right?

Everything between the start of this streak and Chicago's Cup win is a blur. Did they party hard, or hardly party?

Spectra 03-05-2013 10:30 PM

Train keeps rollin', good stuff

BronYrAur 03-05-2013 10:30 PM

It's amazing how Saad has improved since the beginning of the season. He definitely seems to have learned a thing or two from Toews & Hossa about shielding the puck.

And damn is he much quicker than I thought.

None of that matters. When are we going to focus on faceoffs?

ChiGuySez 03-05-2013 10:31 PM

Blackhawks steamroller.

Puck protection was always a major part of his game. I'm not saying he hasn't gotten better since joining the NHL, but it's always been a big strength.

zytz 03-05-2013 10:31 PM

Did we win?

I couldn't even stand to watch it because of all the lost faceoffs and spoiled PP opportunities.

Blue Liner 03-05-2013 10:32 PM

Screw face offs, we need to get meaner. I say they take a sledgehammer to the charter plane, "Making it look meeeean" a la "Slapshot". That'd be a good start.

Ugh, barely.. and, not only that, but I'm 99.99% sure that every single Minnesota scoring chance and/or shot was a direct result of a faceoff lost by either Kruger or Bolland.

Do I remember the time they broke an NHL record and a franchise record and went on a 9 game losing streak? No...no I don't. Losses will happen, but the undying pessimism that some people have against the Hawks right now is just silliness. Will they win the cup? Maybe...hopefully. But either way, this has been a great year. So much so, that I've long since forgotten about the lockout.

**** those guys.

Bolland should have hung up the skates after his time with the Knights, what a has-been.

Kruger isn't even worth the price of his plane ride from Sweden.

Blow it up!

Fire Blowman!

am I doing it right? :sarcasm:

Last season.

Saad was great, Bickell was good and Stalberg had his moments as well. Toews and Hossa also had good games and Kane had a clutch goal, but after Crawford, the rest of the team was pretty mediocre at best. I thought this was one of the worst games from our back end (as a collective group) we've had all year. Hammer was late reacting on the first goal and had another misplay that lead to the penalty. Then Keith, who can't seem to clear a puck to save his life, bungled a clear on the Hammer penalty that lead to the goal. We were awful around our own net in general after the first. Not a pretty game for 40 minutes.

Aside from the bad breakdown that led to the first goal, the first period was very dominant. Saad was a man amongst boys (easily the best player on the ice tonight) and our puck possession, forecheck, and zone penetration were phenomenal. Thankfully we held on and claimed another victory.

It says a lot about this team with how they are able to pull games out versus the last couple of seasons. Those years? We have a very good chance at losing this game. Our defense tried to, but Crawford wouldn't let them give it away.

Sevanston 03-05-2013 10:38 PM

In 14 games, Crawford has given up 3 goals only twice.

Cullksinikers 03-05-2013 10:39 PM

This team is amazing, and the only real complaint is them going soft when they get sizable leads.

When he has given up goals, most of them have been on shots he has little chance to stop. A lot of goalies would have given up 5 goals easy over the last 2 periods with the chances the Wild had. Crawford bailed us out big time.

CPHawksFan 03-05-2013 10:44 PM

God this team sucks
