What......

RIP. :(

Megahab 03-05-2013 10:29 PM

Only 58 years old. RIP. A special part of my childhood memories as a wrestling fan.

Guardian17 03-05-2013 10:30 PM

Very sad news.

Paul Bearer was the perfect manager for the Undertaker.

Disclose 03-05-2013 10:32 PM

noo.. really sad.
as a taker mark, Bearer and his character was a favorite of mine as a kid.

RIP Bearer!

M.C.G. 31 03-05-2013 10:33 PM

Man I watched him since I was a baby. One of a kind.

LeafSadist 03-05-2013 10:38 PM

He had some of the greatest/funniest mannerisms back in the day, even Taker had to keep from laughing at times. RIP.

Le Tricolore 03-05-2013 10:43 PM

RIP. A legend for sure. I'm sure he'll be put into the HOF this year.

17futurecap 03-05-2013 10:43 PM

Damn it, my brother just told me. Sad for me and him as we grew up watching WWF in the early 90's, and what a special part he played. Prayers out to his family, I know Paul's wife passed a few years ago, and he was real broken up for months after it as anyone would, now they lie together.

RIP Paul.

GKJ 03-05-2013 10:44 PM

RIP, this is terrible. I know he had gotten his weigh under control over the last few years. And then this.

M.C.G. 31 03-05-2013 10:45 PM

I wish I got to see the day Taker, Kane and Bearer had a reunion after Kane and Taker retired. That won't happen. Hope he gets inducted this year (he deserves it) and Taker pays tribute at Wrestlemania.

George Maharis 03-05-2013 10:47 PM

This just ruined my night... I seriously felt my heart sink. My all-time favourite manager, may he forever rest in peace.

Big Poppa Puck 03-05-2013 10:47 PM

Sad and outta nowhere.

RIP.

The Shockmaster 03-05-2013 10:47 PM

Ugh...RIP...

Taken 10 days ago.

This is saddening. I'd suspect a tribute of sorts at RAW next week and then something subtle like the urn at Wrestlemania... Even though it doesn't quite fit the Undertaker's character as much now

George Maharis 03-05-2013 10:56 PM

I don't want this to come across in a bad way, but I really hope WWE doesn't induct him this year... If they do, it'll be because of this.. and that's ******* ********. Without him, where would 'Taker and Kane be?? Heck, even include Mankind in there.. His induction should not be influenced by his tragic and untimely death, because that takes away from everything else he's done.

Honestly, i'm terrified that WWE is going to incorporate this into the 'Taker/Punk angle... and if they do, **** them.

Ozz 03-05-2013 11:00 PM

Holy **** - if ever there is an appropriate response, it is "Rest in peace". Was he ill?

Starsfan24 03-05-2013 11:00 PM

RIP to a legend.

yeah, I can see them doing that, and I'm really hoping they don't.

Rest In Peace Paul Bearer.

M.C.G. 31 03-05-2013 11:02 PM

They incorporated Eddie in to angles. Remember "Eddie ain't in heaven, Eddie's down there, in hell"?

They might have Punk bring him into the angle and maybe say something like Bearer WAS The Undertaker and he MADE Undertaker...and now he's gone just like the streak will be. I can see that. It won't be SO over the line though, but I'd still feel uncomfortable with the whole thing.

I hope he is inducted and I hope Kane/Taker break kayfabe to induct him together. I can see Taker paying tribute this Monday. They play the tribute video and then have Taker come out and kneel in front of a still image of Bearer on the tron and then lower his head and then at WM, have Taker defeat Punk and then pose with the urn and hold it to his heart as he leaves up the ramp.

EpochLink 03-05-2013 11:04 PM

Tragic :(

Rest in peace my friend

Uli Hiemer 03-05-2013 11:05 PM

Just heard the news.

R.I.P.

Megahab 03-05-2013 11:07 PM

They should keep any mention of Paul Bearer out of the Undertaker-CM Punk feud. WWE exploiting Eddie Guerrero's death was terrible and they should stay away from any of that.

But I think it would be awesome if after Taker beats Punk at WM, Taker does something in tribute for Paul Bearer. Something like kneeling down with the urn and they show a picture of Paul Bearer on the scoreboard screen.

I feel like a piece of my childhood has died. Felt the same way when guys like Owen Hart, Mr. Perfect, Davey Boy Smith, Yokozuna, etc died...basically any prominent name in the early-to-mid 90s.

Can't believe it was more than 21 years ago that Paul Bearer debuted. I feel so old.
