MPS to Detroit

MPS for a defenseman? We need a winger for Datsyuk, I think he would be a nice fit.

Maybe MPS for White or Quincey? Not sure if either side would need to add.

They probably want more even if MPS value for me is not close to what it is to Oilers fans. I don't think he realistically gets moved for what they want, but we probably have to throw a pick in there a second or third maybe on top of Quincey who is the easier of the two because he isn't a UFA.

How about Eberle + 2014 1st for Datsyuk

I would do that, most Wings fans won't. Datsyuk would only stay through 2014 and the only reason the Wings would do that is if he has given them the indication he is going back to Russia at the end of this contract, that is a pretty good return for a year and 20 plus games of Datsyuk.

Explain to me why Edmonton needs a D? MPS isn't going anywhere, been looking good the last 3 games.

You can have Omark.:naughty:

Reunite the Brunner-Z-Omark line! :yo::yo::yo::yo:

Now where talking. 3rd round pick, which I believe is what you got Omark with to begin with.

The Nuge 03-06-2013 04:02 PM

PRV has been playing great lately and appears to have finally figured out that he needs to use his size and drive the net. It's going to take a massive overpayment compared to what most of HF thinks his value is

nitz 03-06-2013 04:03 PM

His name .... Is Paajarvi. Not MPS. Not PRV. it's Paajarvi.

At this point EDM will take a 4th for him... send over the papers..

If that was the case he would of been traded a long time ago. At the TDL Omark will be trade and I think for a least a 3rd.

I know, but that is not being offer, besides the Wings also need top pairing D.

and enough 5-6. Justin Shultz is a #2, and then there is Petry a #4, then a bunch of #5-6-7. Oscar Klefbom will be a top 4 perhaps a #2 in time.

There are holes to fill for sure. Chicago Blackhawks "D" they are not.

ZenOil 03-06-2013 05:14 PM

MPS is going to be a throbbing beast. His skating is out of this world. His defence is on par with Johnnie Cochran. The mighty oil laugh at the offer of White or this Quincey fellow you speak of. This is like leaving the carcass of a rat before the gates of a dragon. The Oilers will huff and puff and blow this offer down.

so the difference between him being traded a long time ago vs at TDL is a late 4th vs a late 3rd?
The guy is pretty much waivers material .. Zach Boychuk being a comparison..

We might get something like what we gave up for Brown (another waivers material).. A 4th\ conditional 3rd

Mr Forever 03-06-2013 05:17 PM

Paajarvi is a good top 9 forward who has the potential to ride shot gun with RNH and Yak on the top line in a year or two. He already shows good chemistry with Hartikainen, another good, future top 9 guy on the team. He's got a great attitude and work ethic. No need to move him now.

Omark can be a top 6 player, but not with the Oilers, everyone knows that. Knowing this the Oilers are not going to give him up for scraps. I believe he cannot play in the NHL until the season is over in Europe or he would have to go through waivers.

Wouldn't he have to clear waivers since he has been playing in Europe since the start of the NHL season? Or is that only for RFA like ROR?

Joey Moss 03-06-2013 06:12 PM

We're not going to take Detroit's garbage for Paajarvi. He's been our best player the last two games and we have no use for Quincey/White here. There is enough 3's and 4's here with Smid, N. Schultz, Petry. What we need is a top pairing defenseman to go with Justin Schultz and bump Nick down to where he belongs; on the 2nd or 3rd pairing.

_______ - J. Schultz
Smid - Petry
Fistric - N. Schultz

That D looks really good with a legitimate #2, not with White or Quincey.

probertANDernie 03-06-2013 06:24 PM

We need a winger for Datsyuk

We have a winger, sadly he is in Grand Rapids....

I believe he has to wait until the season is over in Europe

If he's trade, I believe there is another set of rules unlike ROR which signed a offer from another team.

Roof Daddy 03-06-2013 06:38 PM

I think we have a winger for Datsyuk, but it ain't Paajarvi. Hemsky would be sick with Datsyuk and Bert (if/when he comes back). Playing him with Cleary and Abdelkaeder is sad, those guys are total passengers. A 1st would get it done.

at the last draft they could not get a 5th for him

s7ark 03-06-2013 06:50 PM

Paajarvi has been looking really good of late and I think he's going to move into Hemsky's top 6 spot after he's dealt sometime between now and the 2014 trade deadline.

He'd be available in a package for a top pairing D. He's probably not available for anything else. There is no incentive for the Oilers to trade him "just cause".

Omark for a pick could work. Or something bigger like Omark + Whitney + ? for Filppula. ;)
