Evander Kane to Nashville

Let bring Kane home to the Dirty South

to WPG: 2013 1st, Josi, Hellberg, Watson/Beck/Budish

to Nash: Kane, Kulda

GordieHoweHatTrick 03-08-2013 09:24 AM

Why do you think he belongs in the "dirty south"?

Gump Hasek 03-08-2013 09:27 AM

Kane just signed a six year deal in Winnipeg and is from Canada; he is already at home.

No need for the Jets to move their budding young forward. Winnipeg passes on this and isn't trading Kane; thanks for the inquiry though.

Well he started his career in Hotlanta, also known as the "Dirty South".

As for the OP, Winnipeg is going to need more coming back.

tbcwpg 03-08-2013 09:38 AM

The way Nashville is playing this season, I'd prefer a 2013 1st, not 2014. Even then I wouldn't do it. Josi doesn't help, and Kulda is in Europe anyway.

Kane was living in probably the best city for a young, rich athlete of color to reside- Atlanta. He could hang out with a veritable who's who of moguls in the urban sports, fashion, and entertainment industries. He also was revered and respected as an athlete by the fanbase and media.

The South is better equipped to deal with players that have "Swag".

Josi would be on the top pairing in WPG ......

I was a fan of Kulda ,while I was a Thrashers fan- totally underrated, very sound defensively. Almost like a more mobile Hal Gill.

I'm guessing because he started his career in Atlanta.

Josi would unseat Byfuglien or Enstrom on the top pairing? How about Bogosian?

AintLifeGrand 03-08-2013 10:03 AM

Bogosian 1st half of 2009 (wpg fans probably have no recollection of this )> Josi

Josi 2013> The rest of Bogosians Career

How does he unseat big buff and Enstrom?

I am not sure of Josi career records can you explain further, if he is that good he would have been mentioned already along the lines of doughty, pAngelo, but a notch below.
Both buff and Enstrom are top 30 damn,
Top 8 offensive damn both.

veganhunter 03-08-2013 10:09 AM

Wilson, Josi, 1st rounders, Budish, and Watson are the only remotely interesting pieces. One of Wilson or Josi + a 1st + one of the 2 prospects at minimum.

thecloser 03-08-2013 10:10 AM

I'd love to add Kane in Nashville but I'm not sure
giving up Josi is the smartest move.

Definitely not.

Predsrule 03-08-2013 10:15 AM

Josi this years first when we have no 2nd and 2 good prospects ? No thanks love Kane but nope

With logic like that, you don't even need a team to talk about.

Top 6 Spaling 03-08-2013 10:29 AM

Makes no sense for either team. The Predators losing Josi kills our defense, and the Thrashers need a great young forward way more than a great young defenseman.

WPG shouldn't do this, but the under-rating of Josi in this thread is rough.

Josi inclusion makes this a no-go from a Nashville perspective, if that clarifies things.

He's the heir-apparent to Suter, and is already on our top pairing.

Filip Forceberg 03-08-2013 10:30 AM

I'd love to have Kane, but not at the price of Roman Josi.

Why is it you guys think if you string enough mediocre stuff together you can get one superstar. Sabres fans are also trying to do the same thing

My team

Your excellent young superstar

Your team

All the half baked crap we can do without, with picks added in there as well if we have to.

Seems fair to me

On what planet is Josi "half baked crap?" He's already a fantastic 2/3, and on his way to being a star 1/2.

I would hesitate to make the trade 1 for 1, let alone adding in all of these other pieces.

So..our sophomore top pairing defenseman is "baked crap"?

I'm guessing they don't watch the Preds much.........

I'd rather just keep Josi.
Kane would be in Trotz's doghouse most of the time anyhow.

I agree that Josi is being underrated here, but from a Winnipeg perspective, it makes no sense to give up a high-scoring, young winger for an admittedly very good defenceman, someone who would just be part of a big group rather than stand out on his own.
