Kalvinators 03-08-2013 11:55 AM

8.25 AAV

Damn, would hope for a little less

Gibson Les Palms 03-08-2013 11:55 AM

Awesome news!

snowave 03-08-2013 11:56 AM

Wow... on all levels.

Ducksgo* 03-08-2013 12:00 PM

Yah it was posted in the trade boards. I'm speculating 6.7-6.8 per year something like Parise deal

8.25 according to TSN twitter stuff.

Congrats on the re-signing, Anaheim fans. Best of luck to you guys.

rocsfeather 03-08-2013 12:03 PM

I want to live

Kalvinators 03-08-2013 12:04 PM

That money worries me a bit. No way in hell we give Perry less. And... can we afford it?

That's crazy if its 8.25 per 8 years. Remember how everyone was assuming nothing over 7??? If so they could walk...Ouch!!!

rocsfeather 03-08-2013 12:06 PM

It also means management is willing to spend.

On top of it what will Ryan want?

Not really. Say goodbye to Perry.

What happened to controlling salaries after the lockout. :help:

Great player, but 8.25 for 8 years? Wow.

Crosby and Malkin are at 8.7....

jumptheshark 03-08-2013 12:08 PM

great move by the ducks

That's a good deal for him. Market value
We won't be spending to the cap anyway so the salary isn't really a big deal if the ownership is ready to raise the internal budget a bit

needzmoarcleary 03-08-2013 12:13 PM

Curious will your team have space to sign perry? If so do you think he will want around the same or take less? Is he pretty much gone?

Thanks for posting that. It puts it into a little better perspective. I think he's worth it based on alot of those other salaries. I do worry about Perry and Ryan though.

I agree. I was wrong. It's better to NOT have Getzlaf.

KelVarnsen 03-08-2013 12:20 PM

Wow. Thats a lot. Glad there was a lockout so owners could keep salaries down.

Paul4587 03-08-2013 12:21 PM

I'm happy, he's easily worth it so long as we don't have any repeats of last season.

And to those comparing it to Crosby - Crosby's cap hit is $8.7M, his salary is significantly higher than Getzlaf's for every year of Getzlafs deal. In Anaheim it's the salary that matters not the cap hit.

Getzy15 03-08-2013 12:22 PM

Extremely happy he is resigned but too much money. I was thinking it would be 6.5-7, but 8.25? How can we afford to re-sign perry and ryan down the road too? If Selanne and Koivu retire we will have to hope the young guys step up or we will be a one line team again.

Kalvinators 03-08-2013 12:23 PM

I hope there is a point in the contract that every year shall be a contract year. Otherwise, we can be ****ed :sarcasm:

JabbaJabba 03-08-2013 12:23 PM

That price tag is a bit alarming. Great to see him signed and all, but how are they going to be able to build a solid team around him? Especially if Perry gets a same kind of contract.

Well, hopefully he plays like he has been playing so far.
