NBA Mock Draft 2013 (FINISHED)

In the football sub-forum, we've had our annual mock draft going on recently:
HFBoards: NFL Mock Draft 2013

I was wondering if there would be any people here interested in doing a NBA version of the Mock Draft. Maybe we could start after March Madness, after the NBA regular season has ended or maybe closer to the real draft after playoffs.

This year's draft would be especially interesting, because at the moment there doesn't seem to be a clear first overall pick.

RULES:

* First 14 picks will be made in this draft.
* You've got six hours to make your pick after the previous pick has been posted.
* Clock keeps running from 12 PM to midnight (EST).
* If your pick has been skipped, you're allowed to make the pick anytime you want.
* PM the user picking after you.
* All the players, who haven't declared to stay in college when the first overall selection has been made (=draft has started) are eligible to be selected.

DRAFT RESULTS:

#1 - Charlotte Bobcats - Nerlens Noel, C, Kentucky
#2 - Cleveland Cavaliers - Otto Porter, SF, Georgetown
#3 - Phoenix Suns - Ben McLemore, SG, Kansas
#4 - Orlando Magic - Trey Burke, PG, Michigan
#5 - New Orleans Pelicans - Shabazz Muhammad, SG, UCLA
#6 - Detroit Pistons - Victor Oladipo, SG, Indiana
#7 - Sacramento Kings - Cody Zeller, C, Indiana

#10 - Oklahoma City Thunder - Anthony Bennett, PF, UNLV
#11 - Philadelphia 76ers - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Georgia
#12 - Portland Trail Blazers - Gorgui Dieng, C, Louisville
#13 - Dallas Mavericks - Steven Adams, C, Pittsburgh
#14 - Utah Jazz - Michael Carter-Williams, SG, Syracuse
#15 - Milwaukee Bucks - Dario Saric, SF, Croatia
#16 - Boston Celtics - Jeff Withey, C, Kansas
#17 - Atlanta Hawks - Archie Goodwin, SG, Kansas
#18 - Atlanta Hawks - Tony Mitchell, SF, North Texas
#19 - Cleveland Cavaliers - Rudy Gobert, C, France

No interest at all? Weird, considering that there are at least some people here that know college basketball very well, and active NBA fans as well...

Would've been a fun thing to do, but it's too hard if no willing participants show up.

MurrayBannerman 03-12-2013 03:18 PM

I'd be in.

Big Poppa Puck 03-12-2013 06:51 PM

I'd probably do it. I don't post in the College thread much other than the tourney but I do follow it.

A lottery mock might be more worthwhile than a straight mock.

Blackhawkswincup 03-12-2013 08:04 PM

NBA draft in all honestly sucks

Outside of first few picks it is garbage

Teams constantly drafting guys only to trade them later in draft or sell picks makes it awful and there are never any real trades (Like player for player deals we see at NHL draft)

Agreed.

Good to see that we got some interest, just still need more guys in. Maybe 10 would be enough, and then give everyone three teams? That way the mock would be faster, too.

darko 03-13-2013 08:12 AM

I'd be down for it. Not a huge college bball fan but I follow it.

I think you're right. We could just run the ESPN Mock Lottery thing to decide who picks where and go from there, so we can do it earlier.

Yeah, that sounds good. Maybe we should give everyone at least one lottery team so it would be fair to all.

So, currently we have four people in:

MurrayBannerman
Big Poppa Puck
darko
Pajicz

Well yea and I think we should pick teams after the order is decided.

DaaaaB's 03-14-2013 08:47 AM

I'll take the Raptors.

No one wants them, so you can have them.

Big Poppa Puck 03-14-2013 09:42 AM

I do the Sixers and others if need be.

MurrayBannerman 03-14-2013 09:58 AM

I'd take the Cavs, I guess.

I just said I want them so saying 'no one wants them' is false. ;)

You don't really want them. You just feel bad for the purgatory of professional basketball.

Pajicz 03-15-2013 05:12 AM

I'll take the Wolves (and others which will be decided later), but willing to change if there's a bigger Minnesota fan who wants them.

Pajicz 03-21-2013 01:27 PM

Still looking for participants...

Nalyd Psycho 03-23-2013 11:06 AM

I'll take Portland. But yeah, the NBA draft loses momentum much quicker than other drafts.

Muh 03-23-2013 12:27 PM

I'm in.

I'm a Knick fan, but rather not take them. I'll pick a random team....Bucks. If there is a Buck fan that comes along, I will gladly change for them.

HalbertGil* 03-23-2013 12:44 PM

I'll take Atlanta.

I don't think they're going to have a lottery pick.

Pick from these guys: http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2013/mockdraft

Pajicz 03-23-2013 06:02 PM

Nice to see that we've got some people interested, just looking for a few more...

If someone is worried that your knowledge of college basketball is limited, don't worry; I don't really know **** about it either.

Muh 03-23-2013 08:38 PM

If we just doing lottery teams, I'll take Suns.
