Belanger

Please don't play him anymore.

That is all

Ol' Jase 03-10-2013 10:49 PM

Ooooo, do a thread about Whitney now!!

Wheathead 03-10-2013 10:49 PM

I would argue that Belanger has been one of Tambellini's worst signings.

Kevotron 03-10-2013 10:53 PM

He may not be the best player, but definitely far from the worst.
while Horcoff was injured he was our only C who is remotely close to 50% in the draws and he also helps our PK which is top 10 in the league...

To be fair he was billed as a guy who wins faceoffs, pks and provides scoring from the bottom 6. He was looked at universally as an excellent signing. How is it Tambellini's fault he's forgotten how to play with the puck on his stick?

Something about 20/20 something something, yeah. I liked the signing, but it hasn't panned out which is too bad.

In retrospect maybe. At the time Belanger was a center who could win faceoffs (what we needed) and he had put up 10 + goals for the previous 8 seasons (what we also needed.)

0ilerman 03-10-2013 11:06 PM

its not tambellini's fault that this guy hasn't pissed a drop of offense and treats the puck like a grenade since signing in edmonton. It's on eric to play better

The Nuge 03-10-2013 11:08 PM

Come on... I'm the biggest Smyth fan on the board, but him as our 4th line C is a massive step down from Belanger

Mr Forever 03-10-2013 11:26 PM

He's fine to keep around until Lander develops.

He was signed for three years, not ten.

nitz 03-10-2013 11:36 PM

In retrospect, he's been a bad signing. However, I was a fan of it at the time.

xlnc66 03-10-2013 11:36 PM

I can count on 1 finger the only decent thing Belanger has done all year....and that was winning the faceoff that lead to Yakupov's goal against LA. He can't score, he can't pass, and even in the defensive/neutral zone he turns over the puck a lot. It was actually nice to see him not on the ice tonight.

LOl, I know hey

misfit 03-10-2013 11:51 PM

I agree. He was completely invisible tonight.

Lessy 03-11-2013 12:12 AM

This team won't compete with RNH-Gagner-Horcoff-Belanger as its four centers, especially in that division we're in next year. Going to need at least one upgrade in size on those four. Belanger and Horcoff are similar players; I feel like you need a monster in the bottom six C's.

lololololol

Stoneman89 03-11-2013 12:14 AM

He's on IR with a groin injury, which might explain some things, especially after coming back and playing with broken toes.

Now please close this thread, as there is nothing else to report.

It should be.

But actually...it really isn't.

4 goals in 98 games here.

Belanger has a rare medical condition called "OatesLupulKotalikReddoxOsullivanFraserThoresonBru leSandersonJacquesITIS"

Paralyzer008 03-11-2013 02:14 AM

The guy who won the faceoff when we won versus the Kings.

Come to think of it, he's the only one winning faceoffs...

ZenOil 03-11-2013 03:21 AM
