Ryan Miller on trading block (Millard - Tampa Bay inquiring)

Just heard Nick Kypreos, during intermission of Canucks game, say Ryan Millers days in Buffalo over. Would like to trade him at deadline, but may need to wait till offseason.

@JasonPHT: According to @RealKyper during Nucks-BJs intermission, Ryan Miller's "days are numbered in Buffalo." Just passing it along...

Ollie Weeks 03-12-2013 08:00 PM

woah. To me, anyway.

Bet he wants to be in Anaheim.

Fasth is making a hard case.

Hiller + for Miller , still a option?

Miller for Ribeiro

I'm not sure why the Sabres would trade him. They have no one in the pipeline who can replace him. Unless the team wants to go into complete rebuild mode. Even if they do that I still don't know how they replace him.

Columbus or Edmonton should be all over this, if true.

hiller and perry

for

Pominville + Myers + Miller

I doubt it, but who really needs a goalie bad enough that could give Buffalo some nice assets back? Edmonton? Philly? The market for goalies is going to nosedive with all the ufa goalies plus Vancouver's available.

Freudian 03-12-2013 08:17 PM

Enroth isn't ready to be a starter, is he?

Never thought Miller would consider us. Though he did play in our charity games this summer.

His wife lives in LA is the major part.

gdsmack267 03-12-2013 08:26 PM

Enroth is just a terrible goalie. If darcys plan is to make him the starter he will officially be the worst GM in the game

oXo Cube 03-12-2013 08:27 PM

you have to think Buffalo would be expecting value quite far beyond what anyone else would be offering

don't expect he will be moved

Vankiller Whale 03-12-2013 08:36 PM

Then trade Hodgson for Schneider.:sarcasm:

Yep, especially with Darcy Regier at the helm.

Still, this makes absolutely no sense from a Buffalo POV unless Darcy wants to truly tank.

dillyboy93 03-12-2013 08:44 PM

Miller+Hodgson for Schneider+Kassian?:sarcasm:

He hasn't won a game in his last 16, or since November of 2011.
So he's ready in the sense that Buffalo would only trade Miller if they had truly decided to throw in the towel and tank, and tank hard.

ETA: Also, I highly doubt this is true.

Warden of the North 03-12-2013 08:45 PM

Please trade him out of division.

Guys a Leafs slayer

Does he have any no move or no trade options?

NTC according to capgeek

If this does happen in the off-season, I could see Detroit making sense. Miller has his Michigan connections, and with Howard a free agent in the off-season, he could replace him. But that's very much just skimming the surface of a place that COULD make sense. I don't know if Detroit isn't keen on adding more older players or if they're looking to go younger. I'm not sure if Detroit could/would offer up the mammoth offer it would take. And Buffalo may not want to trade him to a team joining their conference next season.

I'm very wary of a Miller trade happening; it could, but I just wouldn't expect it. But if he really is available, I could see Detroit as a possible match.

Miller for Bryz straight up.

Wait, you're going to say it's a terrible deal. But it's not!

Bryz will help the Sabres get 2 straight 1st overall picks and then Pegula can buy him out.

So it's Bryz + 2 1st overalls for Miller

Aceonfire* 03-12-2013 08:51 PM

What are Buffalo's needs?

I am certain that Edmonton would be interested.
