Nicole Kirnan and FHL on PuckDaddy
Here's the article:
Nicole Kirnan, first woman to coach men’s pro hockey team, faced ‘demoralizing’ criticism
Someone trying to shine some positive light on this dysfunctional, poor excuse of a hockey league.
Although, the writer was a little too generous here:
Granted, the Federal Hockey League isn't the NHL. It's about three steps below it, with two of the league's four teams acting as affiliates for ECHL clubs.
The best part of the article are the comments at the end:
This is a poorly run minor league franchise, which is about par for the course with a number of minor league franchises. There's nothing of note here besides the fact that the owner who installed themselves as coach happens to be female.
What's the deal Mooney? Is she a friend of yours?
Is it really history making when she owns the team? This isn't a situation where a female coach earned the spot behind the bench, she owns the team and placed herself there.
And that blog clip criticizing her doesn't appear to have a thing to do with her gender. In fact, it sounds exactly like the kind of thing I've seen numerous fan bases (Islanders are a prime example) say about their ownership.

Great article. As someone with past experience in the world of Central New York hockey I can attest you've accurately captured all the dysfunction that a Kirnan run organization brings with it. Stuck up and dysfunctional, that's the Kirnans.
