Lol good enough I guess

Lupul is coming back for injury so the Leafs needed to clear a roster spot. Good luck in Anaheim Steckel.

WELCOME BACK LUPS

tp71 03-15-2013 01:36 PM

Opening up a spot for Lupul to come back.

What does this mean from a Ducks perspective? Holland going down? Etem going down?

Exit Dose 03-15-2013 01:38 PM

Awesome. Hope Lasch finds a better fit with the Marlies than he did in Norfolk.

McMillan is probably the one going back down. This probably means that Bonino is going to be out a while.

Flour Child 03-15-2013 01:39 PM

Boudreau is a big fan of Steckel. He coached him in the A and was a big part of why Steckel signed in Washington

GenericFan2* 03-15-2013 01:40 PM

Yeah......:handclap: GL in Anaheim, Stecks!

I thought Bonino only had the flu?

I've got Etem and Bonino in a keeper league, hence my questions.

DJENTLEMAN 03-15-2013 01:40 PM

What a steal for the Ducks. Steckel is going to come in handy in the playoffs, especially during key defensive zone faceoffs.

hototogisu 03-15-2013 01:42 PM

We don't need "dominos" or "plan the parade" comments in every single minor trade thread. It's spam, against the rules, and worst of all, painfully unoriginal.

Bonino was sick, but it was reported last night that he was going to be out longer with a "lower body" injury.

At least Murray finally addressed our face off a bit. Mcmillans going down

Patmac40 03-15-2013 01:45 PM

Good luck Stecks. Any info about Lasch?

Exit Dose 03-15-2013 01:45 PM

For anyone curious about Lasch, he's a California kid that led the FEL in scoring last season.

HarrisonFord 03-15-2013 01:48 PM

Obviously clearing space for Lupul to return to the lineup on Saturday. Hopefully we can expect a move on the defensive end in the next few days so that Gardiner can get back into the lineup.

Steckel is an offensive blackhole, but great on the draw and can play a decent 2nd PK role. Hope he can do something for you guys

Interesting.

Everyone knows what they are getting with Steckel. If you have a void on the 4th line, a coach willing to put him out there to win some key draws and scoot to the bench - He will be adequate. Had Bozak and McClement not been above average on the draws, I'm sure he would have gotten more playing time; however, even when he was in the lineup those 2 would take key draws over him regularly - so it made sense to move him.

The Marlies pick up another roster player in Lasch, they are a deep squad.

Is he going to come back to NA this season? It looks like he's bounced around a bit this season and is now in Europe.

McDonald19 03-15-2013 01:53 PM

4th line center, faceoffs, PK.

Good trade. Fills a need.

McMillan back to AHL.

MapleLeafs9 03-15-2013 01:54 PM

Steckel was just plain terrible this year. Under 50% on faceoffs, slow, can't do anything offensively.

Hope he can turn it around in Anaheim, but I doubt it.

Ducks really need faceoff help. Besides Koivu we have no one that is very reliable in the faceoff center. Getzlaf is decent but before this year has been pretty bad.

The 4th line particularly has problems getting trapped on the ice and having to ice the puck a few times. I'm sure this will help a lot with that... Hopefully he is even average defensively.

Clears a roster spot for Lupul. Meh trade.
