Was just adding him to my UFA list and was surprised to see he'd put up 4 goals and 6 assists this year. Good for him on finally locking down an NHL job.

where is he in the depth charts?

Interesting.

4th line RW, absolutely perfect in his role. The fourth line of Martin-Cizikas-McDonald is a beast line.

Im very happy about this. He plays a great role on the team. I really believe with more playing time he could definetly be a top 6 guy.

5 years, 5 mil per is my guess.

yeah, I'm not serious

Always liked in in Oiler organiztion. Nice to see him finally stick in the NHL

StrongIslanders90 03-15-2013 08:13 PM

He earned it....Hard nose player that does many things right....

Martin Cizikas Macdonald will be our 3/4 line...they are pretty good an effective together...

Any potential to be a 3rd line 35 point guy?

Same here. I'd always hoped he would get a longer look with the Oilers.

I think so. If he's put in a 3rd line role with someone more offensive than Cizikas I think he can be a 15G 20A player.

He definitely deserved this contract.

good thing, low money and amount of years from this deal won't be too much of a liability if things don't continue to go well, so all perfect

No risk move by Snow but a little surprised to see them giving him two years. He's done well on the 4th line and plays a nice physical game the Isles need. Guy's actually a decent finisher too.

He could play on the second line but I see him as a third liner in the near future. Right now he plays great on the NYI 4th line. He has good two way skill. Depending on playing time I could see 40-50 pts and even 20 goals.

I don't think he'll ever amount to a second line guy, because his skillset is too limited and he's not a great goalscoring type but a good grinder who could well end up a third line player in time.

He's got 10 points so far this season and will most likely become a 3rd/4th line guy who'll get anything between 20-35 points depending on icetime and linemates. Maybe he can even get some PP time if improvement continues

He's strong along the boards, plays physical and can pot a few. Nice 4th liner on the only line that's that's actually complete for the islanders. No need to stretch him to the 3rd line and he has no biznatch on the 2nd. Besides, that spot is reserved for Smokposo so he can skate into people and fall down in the corner.

Hipster Doofus 03-16-2013 05:12 PM

Hes on a roughly 35point pace as it is in a fourth line role. Great wrister when gets a feed in open space. 3rd line upside cause hes fundamentally sound and has a good wrister. I could also see him getting slotted up in spot duty. Good grinder who isnt useless on cycles and forechecks
