Flyers are 9-4-1 at home

and 4-11-0 away. I think this stat talks a lot. What's wrong with our away games? Can it be that much of a factor?

SolidSnakeUS 03-16-2013 12:32 PM

Maybe it's because Briere has the A on his jersey when we are away?

Briere's home. Hartnell's away.

SolidSnakeUS 03-16-2013 12:52 PM

Are you sure? Wouldn't Hartnell be a better A for home?

What difference does it make?

I'm pretty sure I saw Hartnell wearing the A in Jersey the other night.

Hmmm...

Back in the Richards and Carter era at some point it used to be the other way round. Disappointing losses at home, players blinded by the light and overwhelmed by high expectations on home ice coming up with outstanding performances when playing elsewhere.

The current team is struggling with their transition game. Away you normally have the home team coming at you with speed, pressuring the defense and it takes a fast and precise transition to create scoring chances on the other end once you acquire the puck. And they are just not good enough in this area.

imagine of Schenn didnt save Bryz's bacon last sunday and that puck went in with 13 seconds left last night. Probably pretty fortunate to win both.
Still dont like how they are playing. Bryz did step up anyway last night.

I would guess some of it is on Lavy with the line match ups and the other teams getting last change.

Rangers have a similar problem 9-5-1 at home, 4-7-1 at away. I hope both teams make playoffs. Good luck rest of the way.

Yeah right hahaha.

Ryker 03-17-2013 12:23 AM

I have this uneasy feeling the Rangers are going to be this year's Kings.

Krishna 03-17-2013 12:51 AM

They are no where near as deep as the kings are

It's basically a top line, 2nd line, and 2 4th lines

Kings were trying all season to get goals and wins while Quick was keeping them in it while NYR looks unwilling to actually put any real effort out

Eh, hindsight is 20-20.

edit: Also, Carter only joined the Kings later and the Kings also didn't have a good third line on paper. If by any chance, Kreider decides to go on a tear in the playoffs, that could also change the entire thing.
