Questions about tickets/flights etc..

So,
My Oilers fan friend and I are planning to come to MTL during the playoffs and we are unsure of a few things.
1) Should we come to first round game or wait ? If we wait, we might not come because there are chances the Habs will lose.
2) Ticket prices for playoff games ? Where to buy ?
3) Cheapest way to buy flight tickets ?
4) Other places to visit in MTL ?

Thanks !

You can find some of the info here. Like the other places to visit and where to buy tickets.

I'd say come for the first round, just to be safe, you don't want to reserve airplane tickets, hotels and everything just to see them get swept before the series you were going to go to...

I couldn't find any info for the playoff ticket prices, or when they would be available, it's usually closer to the playoffs, check the canadiens website regularly for that, they also have a resale section...

I know nothing about flight info.. Sorry...

And where are you planning to get tickets for playoff games?

It's pretty hard to get playoff tickets. I mean you'll be lucky if you get Game 6 (or 7)
Planning for playoff tickets *unless you get tickets off kijiji* is pretty unpredictable

Won't they sell them online ? I'll make sure I'm the first one there.

That is what everyone says, my friend. Really comes down to luck in the automated system. I once got in there when it opened at 10am sharp, and when It was my turn, only individual tickets were left. Other times though, I came 30 minutes late, and was still able to get quality seats.

Its really hard to guess, and a bit risky to plan a trip supposing you will get tickets. Just incase, get ready to find alternatives. Hope it works for you, but its really hard to say with certainty that you will get some tickets

Kijiji is man's best friend :) Obviously I will first get a ticket for the game and then plan the trip.

I mean, you can always get them online from secondary sites but be prepared to pay an arm and a leg.

Decent ticks from official sources usually cost around $150 right ? How much should I prepare in case of contacting a secondary source ? :help:

That is what you'd pay for maybe a game during the season in the blues. If they Habs continue this way onto the playoffs. 150 will get you only a night at a hotel.

Holy F. What would a decent ticket cost for a playoff game then ?

150 might get you a pair of tickets in blues during the regular season. I would say 250 or maybe more, gets you that same pair during the playoffs.

Roughly.

It all depends how good they do in the stretch.
Also depends who they face, if its Boston/Pittsburgh/Toronto or Washington for example... I expect the price to increase.

schumway2 03-24-2013 02:57 PM

I bought 2 tickets second hand for game 6 vs the Pens a few years ago and paid $400 for the pair. I sat in the whites. First round would be a little cheaper but not much.

Ohhh I see.

The only sure way you can get PO tickets is you are able to come to MTL the day before they start selling tickets and you camp outside the bell centre with the real fans ( I'm lots of you guys will be there ).

Unless they only sell tickets online? I only ever bought regular season tickets myself since I don't really like to sit in the blues and whites are often sold out during the playoffs.
