MTL VS LA in cup finals

If both teams would make it to the stanley cup finals this year who do you have winning?

jigglysquishy 03-22-2013 04:48 PM

No Gretzky this time.

No Roy this time.

Still go with Habs

matCH penalty 03-22-2013 04:51 PM

Montreal wins the first game on the road, then Therrien calls a stick measurement on Penner in Game 2 for old time's sake and it starts a gigantic brawl. Ryan White is scratched and still gets 27 PIMs. The NHL suspends both teams and awards the cup to Chicago.

(Montreal in 6)

Benny FTW 03-22-2013 04:55 PM

LA in 4

Makes sense.
(Kings in 5)

Kings in 6. LA is built for the playoffs. Montreal, maybe not so much.

NastiMarvasti 03-22-2013 05:04 PM

I know I'm biased, but Montreal would get rag-dolled in this series.

Hammer Time 03-22-2013 05:52 PM

Kings assuming their roster is healthy. If they're still playing with 3 defencemen hurt, then Montreal.

Agreed. This is a roll for LA. Too deep and considering the goaltending would be a wash(I'm American and that's how I view Carey Price) but in every other category LA would woin.

I'd be betting plenty on L.A. But i too am biased, about winning money.:)

thekernel 03-22-2013 06:03 PM

nobody will respect montreal's D, subban and markov dominate the PP but still win every game by 1 goal. habs in 7.

CanadienShark 03-22-2013 06:07 PM

Habs could do some damage, but also fizzle out - a boom or bust situation.

If Markov stays healthy the are a serious threat in the East. IF that is. There's a few of us that are touch and go with it and expect an injury out of him, as has been the case in the past. At that point if he's healthy they are a threat.

With all that said, they still lose to LA in 5, maybe six. LA's just a better team overall.

I think it should be awarded to the team in closest proximity...

Anaheim.

I like it. Love how everyone keeps underestimating the Habs. Gonna be some major ******** once the playoffs start and your favorite team gets rolled.

Can't wait.

What a useless post. If if if if if. The reality is that Markov is currently healthy so lets all just focus on that instead of thinking in an imaginary world

stlblues9 03-22-2013 09:11 PM

LA in 4. With the size and speed of LA, they would roll over the Habs.

AJMHABS 03-22-2013 10:10 PM

Kings in 6, assuming both rosters are healthy.

Habsawce 03-22-2013 10:56 PM

I think the entire series would boil down to 2 people. Quick and Price, and if both teams were in the finals you'd have to assume both were playing spectacular.

Would be one hell of a rematch!

sharks9 03-22-2013 11:00 PM

Habs in 6. They've clearly been the better team this year.

Milan the God* 03-22-2013 11:03 PM

History repeats. Montreal beats the Kings.

Considering he hasn't played a full season in half a decade or over the age of 30, I'd say it's a valid point. The poll is regarding a hypothetical situation in June when, in a shortened season has a possibility to occur based on previous history. Also considering he's very important to the Habs success, it is also valid in terms of their relevance in their own conference, let alone the league.

And regardless, the Habs still lose even IF he's healthy. Is that definitive enough for you?

thadd 03-23-2013 12:19 AM

Gotta go with the proven guys.

sansabri 03-23-2013 12:25 AM

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabs

Sergei Shirokov 03-23-2013 12:33 AM

Habs.

I think Price is more unbeatable than Quick, and that's what it would come down to for me.
