Welp...welcome back

Seb 03-23-2013 12:06 PM

Loved him on the Habs before. Will help our 4th line.

Looks like it's true. I think he might be finished but I loved Halpern the first time around so no complaints here.

My Velouria 03-23-2013 12:08 PM

Dumont sent back down for sure.

Domenic 03-23-2013 12:08 PM

Finally, someone who can consistently win faceoffs.

Made Dan 03-23-2013 12:08 PM

I'm sure you guys know what you're getting with him. He won't add much of anything offensively but is still a fine, speedy defensive player who's great on faceoffs and a good PK guy.

Machinehead 03-23-2013 12:09 PM

Congrats to Jeff and the Habs. Don't like the way he was treated by our organization and I'll be pulling for him.

He had a great run here. He can still probably play a few games on Eller's wing until some more injuries come back.

Gary320 03-23-2013 12:09 PM

Zero problems with this. I loved the guy the first time around. Will be a big help to our PK.

BrimStone64 03-23-2013 12:11 PM

Blunden returned to Hamilton?

Sports1131 03-23-2013 12:11 PM

I'm not sure where he fits into the lineup (White out or on the wing?), but I have no problem with this move. Hopefully he can help our mediocre penalty kill and win some key face-offs for us.

habs03 03-23-2013 12:11 PM

Great pick up, 56% on faceoffs, a right hand shot, and good on the pk which we need serious help on. White just wasn't good enough at centre, this now also him to move to RW and him and Armstrong can spilt time there when everyone is healthy.

Jay Wolf 03-23-2013 12:12 PM

Well, we wanted a face-off guy... we got one! RH to boot.

clarke19 03-23-2013 12:12 PM

Where are we fitting all these forwards?

McTusk 03-23-2013 12:12 PM

But the Habs need a goon. Sorry, someone had to say it.

Great pickup, solid vet for the bottom 6.

LaTenderness* 03-23-2013 12:12 PM

Welcome back HalpBurn

Clumsyhab 03-23-2013 12:13 PM

Right handed experienced center that can win faceoffs, could be useful in the playoffs.

Habsfan18 03-23-2013 12:13 PM

As a 4th liner, I'm good with this. We know what we're getting with him. Solid defensive player who is good at faceoffs and can play the PK.

Last I heard White is injured, and even when he's back, Halpern is a step up at center, not to mention better than Blunden.

ThaDevilGirl 03-23-2013 12:14 PM

Fine by me.

M.C.G. 31 03-23-2013 12:14 PM

Good pick up. Great on faceoffs and he'll definitely help on the PK, and we need help there. Love it.

Gary320 03-23-2013 12:14 PM

It seems like MB really likes sticking with people who have had experience in MTL, or is it a coincidence?

SouthernHab 03-23-2013 12:14 PM

What was the contract?

Since its Halpern, one would hope that he is paying the Canadiens instead of the other way around.
