Glenn Healy just said there are rumors the Panthers may be for sale. Please let us get a billionaire owner.

How does the contract we have with the BB&T center affect whether or not we get moved?

Not concerned or anything, just curious.

I'm pretty sure that the contract couldn't be broken unless the owners filed for bankruptcy.. So if it was just sold, the team would stay. Don't quote though.

adam graves 03-23-2013 09:27 PM

new owner assumes the contract with the arena..."steps into" previous owners shoes.

angry_treefrog 03-23-2013 09:41 PM

This team will never be great with the current ownership group in place.

Agreed. People need to understand that the past owners both cohen and viner are nothing more than meer puppets tied to the strings of Jordan Zimmerman and Sunrise Sports and Entertainment. He is the big money behind the panthers and I guarantee the next owner will also be tied to his organization as well.

Well whether he is super rich or just plain old rich let it be the right owner. I would do bad things if another one of my teams got a Jeffrey Loria.

Let it be a hockey-lovin' WOMAN!:yo:

A woman with more brass *bleep* than any man who has formerly owned this team!!! :handclap:

Any contract is breakable except maybe constitution. It just matter of compensation how much other party gets from other party. Does anybody know how much would be the compensation if Panthers decides to move?
Potential buyer candidates, Jeff Greene, Miami Beach businessman, was earlier interested in buying Tampa but mentioned that "numbers do not make sense". Maybe this time (not sure if he's a hockey fan at all).

Oh yay.

Don't know what's worse, finding a new owner or reading all the move Florida to "x" posts potentially?

Maybe, but it's undeniable this team is building a much brighter future without Cohen at the helm, regardless. He was a micro-manager who did a lot to waste a decade for this team.

gizmo12688 03-23-2013 11:33 PM

I'd rather get rid of Yormark first

retention of the talent when the time comes is the big question. Is the organization committed to spend the money needed to retain these young studs? Or even more important is there motivation for these young guys to be committed to our team when it comes time to re-sign?

This could very well be the difference between a financially successful or unsuccessful franchise in the future.

Time will tell.

I remember when everyone was rejoicing about Viner and Co. getting in here after Cohen.

My how the times change...

He's been a breath of fresh air, but he's still strapped and Cohen still has a role.

If the Panthers are up for sale, I hope that its something that works itself out quickly. I, along with most here, am not looking forward to the countless threads about the Panthers, and where they will be heading.

Boooooth10 03-24-2013 07:53 AM

Would be nice to have an owner with deep pockets for once.

Mogo 03-24-2013 08:03 AM

I don't think the team get's moved. BB&T is a money machine

How much money SSE is making, arena profits - Panthers' losses - loan services? Are they in black or red?
