Smyth Injured

BREAK FOR SMYTH

Smyth didn't play in the scrimmage because he suffered a hairline fracture of the forefinger on his right hand when slashed by Bryan Allen in the first period of Monday's 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks at Skyreach Centre.

"I've got a little, minor fracture," said Smyth, who expects to be back on the ice this morning and intends to golf with his teammates in the afternoon. "It's sore to grip."

Doesn't sound like great news, especially since he's going golfing. Doesn't bad news come in threes ?

Cheers,
Geoff.

It's Smytty. ;) He scored in the 3rd. It shouldn't be more than a slight inconvenience for him.
If he can golf, he can play hockey.

It's not like Smyth needs his hands to blast those rockets from 30 feet out. :) Most of his goals only travel a couple of feet. There sure have been a lot injuries around the league so far for name players. Antropov, Koivu are the two that spring to mind but I know there have been more. And I heard a rumour that Deadmarsh & Allison are both still having post-concussion problems in LA. If that is true it just freed up another playoff spot for somebody.
