dealing in bad faith... anything in history as bad as Feaster?

was just trying to remember if there had ever been any other high profile debacles like the Feaster Iginla thing tonight?

is this a first in NHL history? anything even similar?

Lindros was traded to both the Rangers and Flyers, they had to go to an arbitrator to decide which trade was official

Who said that this was Feaster's fault? Maybe Bruins officials jumped the gun and leaked it.

This reminds me of the Eric Lindros snafu.

EDIT: As pointed above.

BurnEmUp 03-28-2013 01:07 AM

It isn't Feaster's fault the Bruins yap to their media guys too much.

I guess Quebec for making 2 deals

Feaster is an idiot. Phanuef trade, jankoski drafting, Iginla trade and soon to come bouwmeester trade.

Iginla trade wasn't badd for the time, but it should have been done years ago and he could have gotten a real return instead of two who's and a late pick

This however I would not blame him for.

Seems like Iginla might have declined the trade to BOS which may have been his right.

The Flames certainly didn't announce a trade to BOS and based on who broke the trade, it was likely a BOS source.

Yeah, but weren't the Bruins on his list of teams? If he didn't want to go to the Bruins, then why would he have them on his list?

jumptheshark 03-28-2013 01:14 AM

What hell happened this morning?

I just wanted to point out that Feaster didn't actually make the Phaneuf trade.

According to Capgeek, Iginla had a NMC...he didn't need to provide a list and likely didn't.

The media switched which teams were on the list and even how many teams were on the list in the last week. I think in general we put way too much faith in what they are saying...some teams don't leak anything and they just need to make crap up or rely on less reliable sources.

I am really curious to see what Chiarelli has to say about this (if anything). I mean, there's no chance this is Lindros v2 right? I know it sounds far-fetched but after the whole ROR thing you never know.

boredmale 03-28-2013 01:18 AM

Just incase anybody cares

http://snyrangersblog.com/rangers-hi...the-same-time/

This is what the Rangers had on the Table for Lindros(which at the time seemed like a much better deal then what the Flyers were offering since nobody knew Forsberg would end up almost as good if not better then Lindros)

The Rangers reported offer was John Vanbiesbrouck, Tony Amonte, Doug Weight, Alex Kovalev, $12 million and first round picks in 1993, 1994 and 1996

doubtful, as iginla has to formally waive his NTC

DuklaNation 03-28-2013 01:23 AM

Epic trolling by Feaster to boost trade value.

so you are saying this is all on Iginla himself for dealing in bad faith with no intentions of going through with it in Feaster negotiating with Boston?

Hatrick Marleau 03-28-2013 01:24 AM

There was the SJ-OTT-LA trade. Heatley to SJ Marleau to LA and I forgot who went to OTT. ESPN reported it as a done deal but it never happened.

I'm learning very quickly that most people here don't know that.

How's this dealing in bad faith? Boston wouldn't guarantee their pick, and Pittsburgh did. Iggy said he'd rather go to Pittsburgh, and Feaster accommodated his request. What's so bad here?

I think this was Iggy's call, to be fair to Feaster...

smackdaddy 03-28-2013 01:25 AM

I think Iginla decided this trade.

Zubrus Coffee Maker 03-28-2013 01:26 AM
