NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

Yeah, you do wonder. Scoring 5 goals is something you want to do every day. Obviously, we’ve been thinking a lot why the puck hasn’t gone in.
Today was one of those days when we created enough chances. Some of the games we lost, we didn’t create enough. Today, we finally did.
- Carl Hagelin

Yeah, it’s big to get that first goal. We talked about it this morning and we’re working on better starts and coming out stronger.
But another thing we’re working on is if we don’t score, not to be deflated.
Tonight it was good, we had a good first period I thought.
- Rick Nash

Well Stepan is a guy that I use as an example for all our guys struggling to find their games.
I thought Steph was brutal when he first started this year, I thought he really struggled.
But he stayed with it, worked at his game and just concentrates and he’s turned into one of our top players.
It’s a great lesson for veteran guys, rookies, anybody how he goes about his business.
- John Tortorella

Loffen 03-28-2013 07:36 AM

Shut down Gryba, plx.

*Bob Richards* 03-28-2013 07:42 AM

I'm ****ing amped. Lets go!

silverfish 03-28-2013 07:44 AM

Stretch of games coming up is absolutely brutal. Have to get points where we can. Always need full 60 minute efforts.

Gotta get out of that 8 seed.

Chimp 03-28-2013 07:46 AM

Gaborik on the 3rd line LW and Boyle on the 2nd line. Such a great coach we have, such a genius. With Boyle's offensive talent, skating and puck skills, he'll get Richards going in no time.

At least he managed to get back to the Hagelin - Stepan - Nash line, which this fanbase and the media has screamed about for I don't know how long.

nevesis 03-28-2013 07:50 AM

Boyle won't be on the second line lol.

WeWillWinTonight 03-28-2013 07:50 AM

Really need to win this game start moving up here out of 8th.

Dactyl 03-28-2013 07:52 AM

this is why i hate boyle. i dont hate him as a player i hate that he is used so irresponsibly. torts would rather pit boyle at 2RW than admit his little experiment with LW gabby is a failuer

Krams 03-28-2013 07:52 AM

Mike Hoffman on the Sens' top line and Nils on line two? Would be disappointed if the Rangers come away with a loss. I want another commanding win.

Not like the Rangers won their last game or anything with that lineup. Not like Richards had his best game in over a month playing with Boyle and Kreider or anything.

Come on. :shakehead

NYR Viper 03-28-2013 07:58 AM

This is a must win. All the games are must wins from here on out. Have to get up to 6th at least.

Blueshirt Believer 03-28-2013 08:02 AM

yeah, I don't have much faith.

Ottawa is 12-2-3 at home this year.

If Rangers are going to win this game, all three lines will have to be noticeable. I have my doubts with Boyle with Krieder/Richards. Not to mention Gabs with Cally/Miller.

Dactyl 03-28-2013 08:02 AM

any chance zucc slots into that 2RW over boyle?

No, he can't play yet. Visa issues or something,,,

The Gloaming 03-28-2013 08:07 AM

Will have to miss this one, since they haven't figured out how to put wifi in airplanes traveling over the Atlantic.

4-2 Rangers.

LGR!!

Lorb 03-28-2013 08:09 AM

Bawwwwwwwwwwcawwwwwk. It's a war cry. It's war. After the loss to the Panthers, with 18 crisp games left, JCresty told himself this team has 18 games to prove they're playoff capable and playoff worthy. Started 1-0-1, what we need is to get a point streak going. Hoping that the team shows up and pushes it offensively instead of waiting for a goal to happen.

Sens are pesky but hopefully we can have a few players show up, namely Gaborik and Richards.

nyr2k2 03-28-2013 08:09 AM

Sens are great at home. Rangers are mediocre in general. After a good win, feels like a painful loss. 3-2 Sens, where we play well but give up a couple stupid goals in the third.

yeah, I concur. Course, the first line could carry us again. You never know..

N9Y4R 03-28-2013 08:23 AM

Tough game but we need to keep getting points. Huge stretch of games coming up. Ott, Mon, Win and back to back home and homes with Pitt and Tor. These 7 probably define our season.

Lorb 03-28-2013 08:24 AM

I think at tthis point, match ups are out the window. It's desperation time.

Blueshirt Believer 03-28-2013 08:26 AM

I'll say this:

If the Rangers win tonight. I'll give them a pass in Montreal. I won't get mad one way or another.

Jabroni 03-28-2013 08:39 AM

We need a big game from Gaby here. Richie finally looked good, now it's Gaby's turn.

Not me.

The Rangers need to a win a ****ing game in Montreal. They haven't since 2009. Drawing the Canadiens in round 1 is a real possibility, this team has to end that damn streak. Sick of writing off every game in Montreal.

JohnC 03-28-2013 08:48 AM

Zucc officially signed. Can play if Torts chooses
