Playoffs: Sens or Leafs

It might be kind of premature, but there's a 60% chance we will be facing the Leafs or the Sens in the first round.

Of those two, who would you like to face the most?

Personally, I wouldn't mind the Leafs.

Et le But 03-29-2013 06:19 PM

Leafs and it's not even close. The Sens scare the **** out of me.

Em Ancien 03-29-2013 06:21 PM

Leafs, simply because it's going to be amazing in terms of atmosphere and coverage. I'd rather meet them in the second though.

LyricalLyricist 03-29-2013 06:23 PM

Senators. I have nothing against the sens. I like their coach, their captain, their #1 C and so on. It's a feel good story the way they are perfoming.

Kind of one of those things that it will suck if we lose vs either but losing to Ottawa I can deal with a lot easier.

Both teams are equally dangerous against us.

Teufelsdreck 03-29-2013 06:24 PM

Leafs because of goaltending. Besides, Spezza will probably be back.

habsrule22 03-29-2013 06:33 PM

ottawa has goaltending and that can win a series by themselves. With the laffs once their tough guys are sitting on the bench for most of the game they would be playing with 3 lines and we would wear them out eventually

You're a pessimistic person aren't you?

I'd take the Leafs personally because of their lack of playoffs experience. :sarcasm:

Not really. Toronto always plays hard against us. It would be naive of me to solely look at the standings. They are an emerging team. Kadri is playing well and kessel is a very good player. Perhaps their lack of experience will hurt them in the long run. Still, they have a lot of energy and some good D depth. Ottawa on the other hand is an older team with injuries to key guys. Even if they are equally difficult, I still rather the team without the elite talents in the line up.

BobbyFischer* 03-29-2013 06:44 PM

I would rather play the leafs, for sure.

Sens are deceptively dangerous and Anderson is really good.

Hackett 03-29-2013 06:53 PM

I have more faith in breaking down reimer/scrivens than anderson/lehner

both teams play different styles, but it really comes down to the goalies for me... give me the leafs

peate 03-29-2013 06:54 PM

Leafs would be a bit easier to beat then the Sens. Would still be a tough series probably go 6 or 7 games, but what fun it would be.

While I agree, how many times we see a goalie emerge in playoffs?

I think we know what anderson is all about and he cant get much better than he's already shown. Given that, I think I'd play the know what we're getting card.

CN_paladin 03-29-2013 06:58 PM

Lupul's been a monster since his return and our smurf team might not get as many calls as we get in the regular season.

Sens by far IMHO.

Harpo 03-29-2013 07:00 PM

What's the status on Karlsonn, Spezza and Anderson?

Karlsonn out, Anderson in, Spezza probable?

Hopeful for Spezza. They say they had optimistic timetable and he's not there but he doesn't have a set back. Just not on the optimistic scale.

I choose the Sens. The Leafs' and Habs' fanbases don't get along swimmingly well, Toronto and Montreal have not played in the playoffs for ages, and the series really could go either way depending on which version of each team shows up.

What makes me not want to play the Leafs is that as sweet as beating them out of the playoffs would be, I couldn't endure a series loss to them and have to deal until the end of time with all the gloating from their fanbase that I have an involuntary and competitive hatred for. As much as I believe that this year, we have the team that would find a way to beat them in a 7-game series, I'll take the Sens please.

We Want The 25 03-29-2013 07:08 PM

Sens. Even with their whole team healthy i dont like their team. Leafs would be a great matchup and will help renew the rivalry but i can see us struggling against them in a series

CN_paladin 03-29-2013 07:09 PM

Why do people want to play the Leafs so badly? We need to win first not to get banged up badly.

25get 03-29-2013 07:12 PM

First round, I prefer Sens because I want Ruins to meet the Leafs in first round.

Good point. Even if we win, I think it would be an exhausting series for all.

This scenario exactly.....

Plus I live in Peterborough, so while it would be lots of fun goin at it with the in laws I simply don't need the cops coming to my place...... At this point in life at least.

Sens have just as much toughness as the Leafs, but with the addition of competent defense and goaltending.

The Leafs offense scare me, but if we can't get past Reimer we don't deserve to win a series. The Sens on the other hand, are a well rounded team with great coaching and potentially great goaltending.

The Leafs are not build for the playoffs. Subpar defense and possession means they have to outscore you. The Sens are a grinding team, the kind that can beat anyone in the playoffs.

KingGallagherXI 03-29-2013 09:15 PM

The Leafs because the Sens are better and I want to beat the Leafs more.

But if we beat the Leafs it will feel soooo much better

Alexdaman 03-29-2013 10:08 PM

Neither, I want the habs to play a team that won't be too much of media circus before going against a canadian team, so that the pressure on the team won't be overwhelming.

habtastic 03-29-2013 10:54 PM

If it's Toronto, winning will be the greatest feeling ever, if we lose, we might need therapy until (that is IF) we won a playoff series against them again (but it would be the same for them). I really don't know what would happen in a series with the leafs, so unpredictable. I guess I'd take them though cuz if I'm gonna believe in this team, I'm not gonna chicken out on them.

I would rather just stay 2nd and face either of them later if at all.
