it feels good to be right:nod:

FlareKnight 03-30-2013 11:43 PM

I'm glad he turned out to be this good.

Wouldn't say I believed in him from the start, was just frankly confused since I hadn't actually looked into the draft enough to know who he was :).

bshaw 03-30-2013 11:44 PM

lmao "suck it haters" "where are the haters now". you guys sound like you're 5 years old, who caaaares, we get it you stuck by him so did most leaf fans..

Amp3d 03-30-2013 11:51 PM

What's everyone think Naz will end up with after 48 games? With 12 games left, I'm going with 15 points, giving him 54 on the year.

Its more about the haters from other teams. This guys been tagged as a bust on numerous occasions, makes it worse that the coach at the time had no faith in the kid either. To finally see him emerge to level he has is just amazing. In all honestly though I would have been happy if Kadri got 20 goals and 30 assists if this was an 82 game season. Just so amazing to see him excel to heights never imagined by many!

Before the guy played a minute of hockey this year people were calling him fat. Lets remember those threads.

Those threads were just pure comedy.

Kadri probably eats, works out and takes care of his body 10 times better than anyone on these boards but they felt the need to join in on the bashing.

After all the **** he's gone through, it's just great to see such a young player shine for the Leafs.

pooleboy 03-31-2013 12:03 AM

give him #93 plox. (or 91 but 93 preferred)

Or way way back, when there was a concern about him being a Muslim, and thus being required to fast during Ramadan, which meant that he'd never ever never develop the body strength to play in the NHL. And so on.

It's very pleasurable to see his development. The Leafs/Marlies did well here, as opposed to say Luke Schenn, who got rushed in, made an impression, then got lost, and wound up getting traded away.

In a couple years every kid in minor hockey is going to want #43 ;)

DirtyDion03 03-31-2013 12:21 AM

Anyone got a video of after the game when he was on with Don?

TMLOBI 03-31-2013 12:21 AM

Can't quote.

Doesn't matter to me what other fan bases think. I just find it funny.

I'm glad he is playing at a high level and leading us to our first playoff appearance in so many years.

You have to give him credit though that he stuck it out and didn't listen to the idiotic media. He has proven he can play through diversity in a pressure filled environment. One of the only media personalities that gave him any credit through the Marlie years was Don Cherry! I love how he thanked "Grapes" after the game and said he was a big inspiration to him! The guys on hockey central at noon can suck my big fat toe! I forget who it was but I think that ex jackets GM that said something last season like "Kadri will never contribute in the NHL and certainly not with the Leafs". You just know Kadri heard this and used it as inspiration to take his talent to the next level! To hear that crap at such a young age must make you feel awful.

We've got a special player on our hands and the future is bright!
