A Duck in a Jacket

Story:

The Ducks are in the middle of a long and tough roadtrip visiting their WESTERN conference foes (see pic). This will be a 2nd of 3 meetings between the teams this season with Anaheim taking the first one 3-2 @HC and going 5-1-1 with Columbus in last 7 meetings. Columbus have gained some reputation as a hard working team right now and is currently standing only 1 point behind #8 spot (but have played 2 games more) so this battle will be pretty hard and i already hate their goal cannon + they are 8-0-3 in their last 11 games at home and that Bobrovsky can steal a game himself.
The teams have been playing pretty similar lately. A few games ago the Ducks and Columbus were the only ones in the league that weren`t suffered a single loss in regulation in their past 10 games. But then those Penguins decided to overwrite NHL history, the Ducks suffered 4 in a row and Columbus decided to drop 3 too (because we did). So they have been spying on us and doing as we are. Unfortunately for us, we won our last game, so Columbus will try to win this one to continue adopt our schedule tactics. (Edit: sorry, they have won their last game, so the game could get really awkward. Like in chess when you copy the exact same move your opponent just did)

Here is the roadtrip map to eas... uhm, western conference friends.

Advanced statistics:
One other fact that stands in our way is, of course, statistics (advanced stats).
Here, a scientist in some opponents headquarters have studied it and it is for real. You can see it yourself on a blackboard. (advanced stats)

In this table i found, we also can see (advanced stats) how horrible we are. We are violent.

Plus it is confirmed that Rick Nash went straight to NY in a moment he heard we will be visiting his team.

Happy advanced Easter everyone. It is afternoon in Europe already, so i wanted to make a GDT already. And don`t forget we had a time change last night +1 hour. The game will be at 1.00 am here in Latvia/Finland time zone.

It will be hard to get those BJ`s without Boner, but who knows!

Let`s get those points boys!

Great GDT, but you missed memorial to Bobby's nuts.

Don't worry, I got this covered

Kalvinators 03-31-2013 08:04 AM

It`s ok, they`re not completely lost. They`re just a bit hurt but will improve Bobby`s center of gravity so he won`t fall down as much and i expect a goal from him in next few games.

See this (advanced graph) for explanation:

Great GDT!
Gonna watch it so I hope we win. I mean my last six games: the last game Ducks won before dropping 5-in-a-row, my operator started *****ing so I wasn't able to watch it. I watched every lost game and in Chicago game my internet was unsustainable so I didn't watch.

Sorry about my (advanced stats)

Looking at the first post (trying to convey humor here...) The Jackets won their last game too, what does that mean for the streak?

Minor CBJ line-up update:
Foligno put on IR, they called up Drazenovic from Springfield. It is likely that Boll and Foligno are both out.

From this morning's Columbus Dispatch:

http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/...l3m9neq-1.html

Erixon and Aucoin are both dinged up as well and might be out.

Sorry, i somehow missed that you won your last game. Well, we`ll be dividing by zero then here

Thanks for the lines :)
Our lineups should be clearer soon, after morning skate. Only injuries still remain Bonino a.k.a. the ''Boner''

6PM ET!!!!! O'hail the Europeans!

Jesus Teemu 03-31-2013 11:21 AM

In for (advanced stats). Lets do this Ducks!

My Fenwickometer is predicting unsustainability with a 40% chance of luck this afternoon, let's see if it holds up.

Lord Flashheart 03-31-2013 11:29 AM

Statistically advanced GDT (advanced stats).

KelVarnsen 03-31-2013 11:43 AM

I guess I will jump on the bandwagon: Advanced Stats.

(Dang it. Forgot I cant use that word in a GDT.)

I sincerely apologize to anyone I may have offended by using the term bandwagon.

Go Ducks.

bumperkisser 03-31-2013 12:20 PM

I hope this is a 3 point fame with ducks in OT.
I want the CBJ to at least get a point.

Deen 03-31-2013 01:10 PM

Hopefully Selanne does something today.

Ducks DVM 03-31-2013 01:28 PM

Columbus has had 127 PP opportunities. Anaheim has has 93. (Advanced stats)

My question is - were those extra 34 opportunities included in the Nash trade, or were they compensatory picks for losing the All-Star game due to tampering by Donald Fehr?

Like turns the puck over on a PP you mean? Or something useful like getting on the scoresheet?

If it's the first I think you are in for a treat. He does that often. :naughty:

Kalvinators 03-31-2013 01:44 PM

Just went back home from a bar.
I drunk pizza, played beer and ate xBox. The game doesn`t seem so far away anymore.

Ad still no lines given by Stephens/Ducks

PS
Nice tweet by Wiz

Happy Easter! Duck Soup on the menu tonight? Teemu Salami on Rye Getzlaf with a side of Corey Pears. Sake Koivu to wash it all down. #yum
Here`s the link: https://twitter.com/jameswisniewski/...79468009902081
You can see that the Ducks official twitter have also responded to him. Was a nice guy, but unfortunately we hadn`t a place for him.

Finnpin 03-31-2013 01:44 PM

If Ducks can get even 80% of the effort and fighting spirit that Jackets have in their game we can win this, otherwise CBJ with 2 pts.

Edit. LOL at Wiz's tweet

This.

By any means, i don`t expect an easy game tonight.
And, i actually would like them to sneak into PO. Not sure i`d like to face them, but they have been playing some nice hockey after those horrible seasons.

Kalvinators 03-31-2013 02:07 PM

So very optional morning skate due to early game today. No word on who`s starting but Stephens thought that Hillsy could be in net. But it`s only his guess.
Beleskey is DTD, while Bonino is ''not even close''

Bleak 03-31-2013 02:13 PM

Anaheim has a better record than Columbus (Advanced stats :sarcasm:)

Should be a good game, great GDT

mapes 03-31-2013 02:21 PM

Who's in nets for the Ducks? Any word?
