Boom.

Kinda sucks because Lombardi is money in the second round.

MsWoof 04-01-2013 08:39 PM

I was holding my breath wondering who would go the other way.

Vic Vinegar 04-01-2013 08:39 PM

Any chance Dean plans to make some other trades to get back into this draft?

bcking 04-01-2013 08:40 PM

Aren't we over the roster limit now with Regehr?

kingsholygrail 04-01-2013 08:40 PM

Gonna be an uneventful draft this year.

Ziggy Stardust 04-01-2013 08:41 PM

Go big or go home. Kings want that second consecutive Cup and they could smell it. Roster is pretty deep now and this enables them to move a defenseman for a forward.

kingsfan 04-01-2013 08:41 PM

Overpayment.

Telos 04-01-2013 08:41 PM

Knew it was happening. Pretty O.K. with this. Many may not, but I like Regehr. I think he is just what the Kings need on the back end.

Roster limit goes away after deadline, can send down Toffoli on paper for 2 days to accommodate it.

Better Regehr than Murray for that cost. Should be solid pickup. Likely means no Mitchell this season for sure.

Ziggy Stardust 04-01-2013 08:42 PM

The NBC Sports broadcast crew calling it a very good trade for the Kings.

Possibly, still have 8 picks in rounds 3-7.

William H Bonney 04-01-2013 08:43 PM

Overpayment but he will help with Mitchell and Greene out.

Live in the Now 04-01-2013 08:43 PM

It was time to go for it again, don't care about the overpayment. The team is ready to run, it isn't time to walk into the playoffs but go ahead full steam.

DaAnimal 04-01-2013 08:43 PM

A pylon for two second rounders? Ill take it. I guess toffoli Nolan Richardson or dd44 will be going down to the minors? I guess ellerby and or Martinez will be scratched??

Exactly. You take the known over the unknown and they didn't give up a roster player or a prospect.
They needed veteran help and this gets them that and should give Scuds a break minutes wise. When Greene comes back they'll be set.

And it does give DL more options to get that LW

Myllz 04-01-2013 08:44 PM

Good luck with Robyn, he's still got some life left in him. I'll be rooting for the Kings again this year. :)

Reclamation Project 04-01-2013 08:44 PM

Great move. Instant chemistry with Sutter. Dean is going all in and that's we all want. These opportunities don't come along very often when you can see another Cup in the distance. I'll gladly overpay a bit.

Knight of the Realm 04-01-2013 08:44 PM

I liked RR in Calgary but not sold on him now. Hope he pays off.

Welcome to LA RR!

bcking 04-01-2013 08:46 PM

We need help on the PK, hopefully he can provide that.

kirby11 04-01-2013 08:47 PM

You guys overpaid a bit for him (IMO a 2nd and a 3rd/4th would've gotten it done fine) but Regehr's still pretty decent. Fairly solid #4 option, really good 5/6 if you could pair him with a quicker guy to make up for his lack of speed

CNS 04-01-2013 08:47 PM

Do not like the overpayment when we already don't have a first. This is not the draft you want to be down a 1st and 2nd. I do think Regehr can help. You've GOTTA think a roster dman gets traded now. Ellerby won't be waived and I think Dean is thankful for Whiskey not complaining and will try and find him a new home if he is the one on the move.

He's still solid there

William H Bonney 04-01-2013 08:48 PM

At least we didn't trade for Bouwmeester.

Nashville Transplant 04-01-2013 08:49 PM

Pretty horrible overpayment for Regehr, considering two years earlier he was worth half that, but now Lombardi can ship Drewiske somewhere for five firsts ;)
