Eriksson to L.A.

If Dallas is going full rebuild...

To Dallas: Martinez, Penner (for salary purposes) Toffoli, Vey and a 2nd this year or 1st next year.
To L.A.: Eriksson, maybe a center prospect and a mid round pick?

Do it! Do it?

thye would probably want voynov.

TOML 04-01-2013 10:41 PM

Doubt it. Same division.

Knight of the Realm 04-01-2013 10:43 PM

I think the deal can be simplified.

veedubn1 04-01-2013 10:43 PM

The Stars could get a better package than that and move him to the East at the same time.

For the rest of this season.

Modo 04-01-2013 10:46 PM

Benn, Eriksson and Lehtonen remain the only three players I think that are seen as untouchable in GM Joe's eyes.

Then again, he's surprised us in the past.

Mr Misty 04-01-2013 10:49 PM

He won't be moved, and if he were we would be looking for a #1 defenseman coming back

TrillMike 04-01-2013 11:07 PM

Very, very unlikely Eriksson is traded.

Ogi1Kenobi 04-01-2013 11:09 PM

In a full rebuild, you keep guys like Eriksson.
Joe rarely trades within the same conference.

Vatican Roulette 04-01-2013 11:11 PM

Not that it would happen, but would Eriksson for Kronwall be about right value wise?

glovesave_35 04-01-2013 11:15 PM

I imagine he would cost LA Voynov. Nieuwendyk is on his last leg as GM, so really anything is possible. That being said, he could go from a modest failure to a disaster GM tenure in the history books if he didn't hit a home run with a return for Loui. The guy just shouldn't be for sale so it should take some team making a can't miss offer.

Personally, I find Eriksson being moved very unlikely but entertaining the idea that he were to be it would seem to be most likely an offseason/draft type of trade. Most players being traded around this time of year generally have less than two years left on their deals. Loui has three left after this season.

bhetz23 04-01-2013 11:18 PM

Ugh, enough rebuilding. We've been rebuilding since GM Joe "graced" us with his presence.

What team have you been watching?

What?

We JUST traded Brenden Morrow less than two weeks ago. You'd think trading the laziest captain in hockey would be Step 1 of any supposed "rebuild"

Not to mention the fact that, with the only top-ten pick we've had during Joe's tenure, he wasted it on Scott Glennie.

Voynov + Toffoli + Vey + is around what it'd take.

funky 04-01-2013 11:30 PM

would love him. Fills a huge hole in our team as well as organizational depth. signed 3 more years on the cheaper side of things. 70 point a year, big, two way winger who is entering his prime. looks like a perfect fit

lol.

Try something around Forbort +

Most kings fans wouldn't trade Voynov for Eriksson straight up.

Lol? Eriksson would command a huge package, especially considering Dallas isn't shopping him at all. Voynov + Toffoli + 1st is what I would want if I was the Stars. They have no reason to trade him otherwise.

I'd don't think they'd do all 3 of them, 2 and something smaller. That said DL isn't trading Voynov and Dallas wouldn't be trading Eriksson to us, even though some of us King fans like to dream.

Live in the Now 04-01-2013 11:39 PM

Of course an Eriksson trade would take Voynov. That's why I want no part of it.

Gotcha.

Forbort + +

Better???

When you throw out Voynov's name, it's basically as same as throwing out Doughty's name to us kings fans. And I'm sure Eriksson is close to untouchable to the stars fans as well. You guys are looking for massive overpayment but you probably won't get that from the kings.

Don't get all twisted because you guys are close to having a fire sale.
