Fire Bowman Part III

He did it again.

Roy moved for 2nd round pick, FAR less than what many of us would have happily gave up, just like with Vermette last year. This ****ing stroke is going to cost the franchise a Cup.

I was a defender but not anymore

This is his team ,, If they fail to win then he should be fired

He is happy with this roster despite failing PP and mistake at #2 C

Not gonna say fire Bowman at this point. But the argument of no #2 centers being available is forever gone.

TK 04-02-2013 12:45 PM

Bowman would have had to give more for this deal, but it's annoying to say the least.

Agreed.

Cullksinikers 04-02-2013 12:47 PM

As I stated at least twice in the other thread, the price would not have been a B-level prospect and a 2nd for the Hawks.

Yup.

No more defense for the hole at 2C.

But by my eyes, this franchise has improved a whole lot since The Great Cap Purge.

I don't buy that. Why would Dallas care if a future division rival of theirs has a player...a player who would be gone by the time they were in the same division. It doesn't affect them.

So? We all wanted to give up a 1st+. Never in a million years would I have dreamed he would give moved for a 2nd and a mid-range prospect......LET ALONE WITHIN THE WEST!!

I'd only do a 1st and more if there was an extension in place.

The prospect wasn't mid range but it is less than I thought it'd take to get Roy.

I've been speculating it for years. Bowman is in a sense blackballed by a lot of GMs who wouldn't do business with him unless they are absolutely ****** him. This guy is a cancer and needs to be removed.

Stop speaking for everybody...no way in hell I wanted to give up a 1st...he isn't that good and not much of an improvement over what we have.

Cullksinikers 04-02-2013 12:53 PM

We've got a bunch of great general managers in here. I'd love to see how many of you would have orchestrated a team that would likely be the first to 60 points.

stingo 04-02-2013 12:54 PM

Why would Dallas make Chicago pay more than Vancouver? Very frustrating that we didn't get Roy.

20 minutes ago he was though. Now he's chopped liver. Same old, same old.

*Yes, I know you personally don't really care for Roy but you get the point I am making about a certain faction of people.

The theory goes that Dallas always makes teams in the same conference as them pay a huge premium in trades.

Vancouver won't be in Dallas' conference next year, but Chicago will.

HawkeyFanatic 04-02-2013 12:56 PM

the prospect wasn't a nobody.. was vancouvers #2 D prospect and #4 overall

HawkeyFanatic 04-02-2013 12:57 PM

Mike Morreale ‏@mikemorrealeNHL 22s
Prospect Kevin Connauton was considered by many to be Vancouver's top defensive prospect within their system. http://*******/12cGjVt

Sign me up for this bandwagon!

Blackhawkswincup 04-02-2013 12:57 PM

Nucks have weak prospect pool so using his rank in Nucks system is poor way to claim he has any real value

Cullksinikers 04-02-2013 12:57 PM

How can you get mad at a guy when you don't know what the asking price was?

We'll likely never know. If it was Clendening and a 2nd, I'm with all you that it was bad. However, if it was much more, then it's a good pass.

digdug41982 04-02-2013 12:58 PM

Vancouver has one of the worst pools in the NHL. This return is far less than I could have imagined. Canucks got a big upgrade for very little. They are going for the Cup.

Blackhawkswincup 04-02-2013 12:58 PM

Just keep moving those goal posts ,, Nothing is ever Stan's fault
