A little baby trade

MetalGodAOD 04-02-2013 06:21 PM

Why?

MB94 04-02-2013 06:21 PM

Vinny! :(

MetalGodAOD 04-02-2013 06:22 PM

So so dumb

Antaya 04-02-2013 06:24 PM

Kinda figured I'd be the only person upset with this...always liked Vincour, his skating and speed reminded me of Eriksson...at least we still have Eriksson lol

Cin 04-02-2013 06:24 PM

I just don't understand this **** at all. We officially have too many defenseman.

Modo 04-02-2013 06:27 PM

Can only mean Robi's dealt either tonight or tomorrow.

Has to be.

...Right?

Trillmike 04-02-2013 06:29 PM

What the hell? Why ?

eartotheground 04-02-2013 06:29 PM

meh, vincour is no great loss

Henderson33 04-02-2013 06:29 PM

Meh, was never a big Vincour fan, thought he could be a good 3rd liner but nothing more.

Hopefully this means Robidas is gone.

cmwang 04-02-2013 06:30 PM

What the **** is this. Can someone stop him please?

Satan 04-02-2013 06:30 PM

Garbage in = Garbage out (not calling anybody garbage)

There's gotta be someone leaving from our D corps

RobinDIF 04-02-2013 06:31 PM

How good is this Vincour guy?

The rumour was that Avs didn't even intend to give Gaunce a QO this summer. Lost hope in him and has replace him in the AHL where he has been scratched sometimes.

Troy McClure 04-02-2013 06:31 PM

Vincour was terrible. I have no problems with Joe trading terrible players who are not part of the future.

Two franchises swapping players they don't need. This is a change if scenery trade.

GeoffL19 04-02-2013 06:31 PM

Avs fan here with some info on Gaunce.

He had a really good season last year and seemed to be putting it all together, finally. He was playing top-minutes (with Elliott) and was great on the PK and even had some PP time.

Then for some reason this year, he regressed huge. Not sure if he couldn't adjust to his new coach or has a nagging injury or what, but he's looked a step behind all year, and is getting out of position far too often to compensate. Lost out on ice time to guys like Barrie, Elliott, Pock and even Stollery most nights. Definitely needs a change of scenery.

He's still fairly raw, plays the body and will drop the gloves to stick up for his teammates. Has a pretty good shot. Hopefully he can turn it around for you guys and eventually find a niche as a #5-6 stay at home D-man.

Amazing Larry 04-02-2013 06:31 PM

Uh.
Looks like he's struggled in the AHL.
At least Vincour was putting it together there.
Wish they'd given Vince more time; hope it blows up in their face.
For the record, I understand he'd been given plenty of chances in the NHL.

MetalGodAOD 04-02-2013 06:34 PM

What's the point of rushing a guy to be a third .liner then giving up on him for one bad season?

Sauron 04-02-2013 06:34 PM

Meh....

cmwang 04-02-2013 06:37 PM

Vincour wasn't anything special but he got solid playing time in the NHL and is still very young. So trading him for an AHLer who gets scratched on his AHL team makes a lot of sense

This is Vincour's third season. You can't say he was rushed.

Man, this is proof that Nieuwy will get ripped no matter what he does.

Dude how the **** are we watching the same team?!

Vincour was a great 3rd liner, and I have no idea what else you wanted from him. If anybody should be blamed it's Gully and Joe for not giving this kid minutes. Damn good player.

What's wrong with a good third liner with size? I liked him. And in return we get another 6'0" ish, 200 pound-ish left shot defenseman. WOOHOO! We are frickin' loaded at average sized LD!!!!

vincour was a black hole offensively, and nothing to write home about defensively. often a liability even. i swear some of you pick your favorites and defend them to the death...

This is "trash for trash" at best.
A useless trade.
But like I said, at least Vincour was putting it together in the AHL.
Points aren't everything, Gaunce appears to have regressed this season over last.
