Hawks Poised to Make a Move?

They just made a minor trade to go from 50 to 49 contracts. Speculate away, people.

Superpest 04-02-2013 07:50 PM

I wouldn't look too deep into it.

HawkinMI 04-02-2013 07:50 PM

Don't get too excited.

Devilsfan92 04-02-2013 07:53 PM

Probably just keeping their option open. Nothing imminent.

They still need a #2 C, right?

Blackhawkswincup 04-02-2013 07:54 PM

With more bodies in Rockford probably just wanted to dump him for anything since he was gonna just finish year out in Toledo before not getting re-signed

detredWINgs 04-02-2013 07:56 PM

Filppula.

Why would Detroit trade Filppula to Chicago It's not like were out of the Playoffs yet, Sure If Chicago wants to give us back Hossa then they gladly can have Filppula.

I feel like you vastly overestimate Flip's value.

gongshowmonkey 04-02-2013 08:27 PM

Cory Sarich to hawks?

His point clearly went over your head.

seems like it might be that. Sarich is a good guy to have going into playoffs, I am guessing the return is whats scaring you.

It was meant to be a joke, First off It would never happen, I'm not overestimating Filppulas value. What I was saying Is first off Detroit would never trade Filppula to Chicago first off and If they were It's going to cost Chicago big time. Regardless If Filppula Is an UFA or not just being Chicago Detroit would want tons for him.

I speculate that...

there was no need to create a thread.

No its the fact Sarich is not improvement over the 7 dmen the Hawks have on NHL roster and he has another year at 2M on his contract

Forgot he was signed for next year. I'd take him over brookbank though.

Blackhawkswincup 04-02-2013 08:42 PM

Sarich is barely a #7 dman on Flames ,, Wouldn't be at all an improvement over Brookbank at this point

TK 04-02-2013 08:46 PM

Bowman already landed his big fish.

MrCraigAnderson 04-02-2013 08:51 PM

Probably gonna sign Campoli

I realize that it's Chicago/Detroit, but really, does it matter now? The rivalry is going to be dead next season, and you'll play us twice. Don't get me wrong, I know we'd have to pay a little extra for him, but this isn't as big a deal as it was.

Tatar produces similarly, and Detroit isn't competing with Chicago.

No. It doesn't matter. And if Filppula were traded, I don't think Holland would drive up the price significantly, if at all, for Chicago.

On the other hand, Detroit is competing with St. Louis, who has made a couple big moves, and Chicago plays them 3 times post-deadline. Might as well give Chicago a boost to beat our competitors.

HockeySensible 04-02-2013 10:50 PM

I'd do Stalberg + Shalunov for Filppula. Seemed to get a couple good responses from Wings fans. An exchange of UFA's, and a prospect (a project one) to make up the difference between Stalberg and Filppula's pedigree.

Chicago gets centre depth, Detroit gets bigger and faster.
