Awful for Phoenix. Just awful.

Maloney wants an impact forward. This isn't even in the ballpark.

The Red Wings are interested in adding a top-four defenseman or a top-six forward, but not at the expense of their first-round pick or any top prospects. Holland said they will not acquire any depth players.

-

“We traded a first-round pick last year (to Tampa Bay for defenseman Kyle Quincey), when we were first overall, concerned about losing (Nicklas) Lidstrom and (Brad) Stuart,'' Holland said. “We were going for it.

“You can't trade your first-round pick every year. You have to pick and choose when you go for it.''

IPreferPi 04-03-2013 10:20 AM

Easy pass. This is not even in the same universe of deals that would make GMDM think about moving Yandle.

I'm not going to be too hard on you, just in case you haven't seen what Is being asked for Yandle, but it has been said so many times that the Coyotes will not accept anything less than a bona fide first line forward for Yandle.

mindfly 04-03-2013 10:23 AM

What about Filppula?

You mean the pending UFA to a team with no owner and facing possible relocation? Absolutely zero interest.

HawkinMI 04-03-2013 10:25 AM

It's not an insult of an offer, it's just not what the Yotes are looking for.

Zetterberg4Captain 04-03-2013 10:48 AM

i would rather bouwmeester and he brought back 1/10th that value

terrible move for detroit

By all reports Phoenix wants a 1st line Center just to get the ball rolling about Yandle and Detroit does'nt have one to offer since we would'nt part with either Zetterberg or Datsyuk. Sounds like the point Is mute on Detroits part. And If Ken Holland refused the 1st on Bouwmeester would'nt you think he would refuse the 2013 1st round pick on Yandle as well.

I mean, you could try, but just in case you didn't know he was traded already.

Phoenix has handed out nice deals the past few years, Yandle for instance, why couldn't you offer Filppula around 5M a year?

You'd be surprised. Yandle holds a lot of value and interest leaguewide.

Defensemen with offensive talent are nothing to scoff at.

The take home pay on that sort of deal (which is too rich for us) is a lot less in the province of Quebec than the state of Arizona. Why would Fippula sign given that uncertainty?

I believe Phoenix would want a forward with significantly higher upside than Fippula in a deal for Yandle.

no doubt but players never get traded for that kind of return

anyhow its a mute point because its a terrible deal for detroit and detroit dosent make any trades whatsoever

Because if phoenix can't pay the salaries they will be re-located and he will get his salary in his new city. So this "uncertainty" stuff is just BS.

Taxes. The player would immediately take a 15-20% pay cut. It's the reason Smith is refusing to sign right now. It's not BS at all.

kerjuxaxaxa 04-03-2013 11:11 AM

Don't want Yandle. With his defence ability he will easily become new whipping boy on the Wings board.

Once again mindfly, you forget that these are human beings we're dealing with here, ones with real feeling and brains, not polygon characters from a videogame.

If you can't understand hbk's concern, you're lost.

Why do we meed Yandle anyway? You just want KH to make a move for the sake of it.

*moot

I am not sure Yandle is worth what they are asking.

RedWingsNow* 04-03-2013 11:13 AM

Yeah, the Wings don't have any young PROVEN top 6 forwards... And no young top line centers with a proven record.

So these two teams might not be good partners.

But still, this offer has the Wings giving up a TON

Eternal Sunshine 04-03-2013 11:15 AM

Bob, stop. Please.

rt 04-03-2013 11:16 AM

ZERO interest in Ouellet, ZERO interest in Kindl.

Try again.

I forgot that these are greedy humans who refuse to sign with teams who might re-locate because the state they live in has lower taxes

NHL'ers are a joke.

It's not even sure they will relocate to Quebec, might as well be Seattle or something
