Phoenix have a deal in place to trade Matthew Lombardi to the Ducks. Trade call. #transactions2013

Theridion 04-03-2013 02:27 PM

I was hoping for someone 3-4 years younger. And a little more gifted...

Static 04-03-2013 02:27 PM

3rd or fourth rounder or max friberg is my guess

McDonald19 04-03-2013 02:27 PM

Ok, nice try Murray but he isn't the answer at 2nd line center.

Matthew Lombardi For Brandon McMillan

Corey Perry* 04-03-2013 02:29 PM

Aw, sad to see you go BMac.

mightyquack 04-03-2013 02:29 PM

Not fussed with that price. Wasn't expecting us to get a long term solution for #2 center at the deadline.

davidy2d 04-03-2013 02:29 PM

Not terrible, McMillan really didn't have much of a future here anymore.

RJQuack 04-03-2013 02:30 PM

Meh. It's ... a trade.

KelVarnsen 04-03-2013 02:30 PM

Typical dumpster diving trade by barstool.

Static 04-03-2013 02:30 PM

Good luck to Mac, the kid stagnated

Sucks to see McMillan go, he's going to be a useful bottom 6 player for sure. Good luck to him!

I don't know what to think about Lombardi, he's not exactly the answer to the problems but he's something atleast.

douglast5 04-03-2013 02:31 PM

Yea Mcmillian has been a rather disappointment.

Also because of the Toronto/Anaheim love fest. I think Toronto gets a better draft pick if Lombardi doesn't finish the year in Phoenix. Maybe a later trade to Anaheim from toronto as payback.

AngelDuck 04-03-2013 02:31 PM

I've had enough of Bob Murray's dumpster diving

AngelDuck 04-03-2013 02:32 PM

Edit: Got hacked

Kalvinators 04-03-2013 02:32 PM

B-Mac? Eh, good luck to him there

He's a great gamble at that price. He was that, had fallen completely off the map with his concussions, and has been working his way back last year, especially. Slowly. Didn't seem to be able to progress on that path in Phoenix, but was in a tough spot.

I like this attempt. Low risk, fair reward. At worst, he's another fast player with some offensive skill who's also very reliable defensively.

Enough to stop having extreme opinions every five seconds?

LVDucks238 04-03-2013 02:33 PM

Still think B-Mac will have a solid career, but he was just way too far down the depth chart to really get a shot here.

Lombardi is FAST. Cogs-Lombo-Etem line would be the fastest in the league. Hope he can get back to his pre-concussion form. Either way it's a low risk trade.

McDonald19 04-03-2013 02:34 PM

I don't mind it since the price was only McMillan.

Elvs 04-03-2013 02:34 PM

He's defenitely no Derek Roy, but it's better than not doing anything and I was starting to get worried it would get to that. He's an improvement over Holland and Bonino, and should be more productive with the Ducks than he was with Phoenix and Toronto (where he was behind Hanzal/Vermette and Bozak/Grabovski/Kadri on the depth chart). I'm nowhere stoked about it, but they get him for basically nothing, and I'll give him a chance with Teemu and possibly Ryan before I write him off.

Ducksforcup 04-03-2013 02:36 PM

I like it...it is a typical Murray deal but fast players seem to work well in our system. The price was reasonable as well.

Static 04-03-2013 02:36 PM

I don't get all of this Derek Roy love. The guy is soft and was invisible every game against Dallas. Screw that guy. Give me a player with at least one apparent elite skill that can be useful any day over Derek Roy.

His days as a faceoff guy are over, but he is a pretty good 2/3C with speed type. Goes to the net hard. Good playoff guy.
