The Remaining Non "Torts Guys" and How long They Have Left With the Team

The non Torts guy Ranger is a dying breed that is being systematically weeded out. With the departure of Gaborik, the biggest, but most talented non Torts guy, the rest must see the writing on the wall.

So who are these remaining players and how long do they have left on the team? Richards and Gilroy are my non Torts guy picks. Richards will be bought out this summer most likely. Gilroy can be waived at any moment or just clear waivers and play in the AHL until his contract's up. If he's even still up with the big club.

Whether Richards isn't a Torts guy he IS Torts' guy. They're deff besties

M0rbid 04-04-2013 08:28 PM

No way, Richards is a Tort's guy LOL.

ThisYearsModel 04-04-2013 08:30 PM

Clearly, Kreider is the next one on Torts' hit list.

Torts usually can mold younger guys to be his type of "guy"

JoeRangers 04-04-2013 08:44 PM

Richards definitely is Torts' guy. If he's bought out it'll be after next season not this summer IMO.

The Gloaming 04-04-2013 08:45 PM

While Beaver may not play like a Torts guy, he is THE Torts guy.

1Knee1T 04-04-2013 08:47 PM

Hopefully not Brassard.

Sky Valley 04-04-2013 08:49 PM

Dorsett. Guy was invisible out there last night :sarcasm:

Riverdale 04-04-2013 08:49 PM

This thread screams kreider

StaalWars 04-04-2013 08:50 PM

Brassard, Zuke, Kreider.

ThisYearsModel 04-04-2013 08:56 PM

1. Kreider
2. zucarello
3. McIlrath

robwrx04 04-04-2013 09:18 PM

If only there was a Torts thread

eyjee 04-04-2013 09:38 PM

It's disgusting that a thread like this even has to be posted. No coach should have to ween skill and "lack of jam" out of their lineup. Especially when that player is a proven 40 goal guy.

But, I have come to terms with Tortorella being here with the Rangers. Clearly management is bought into his system and his ways so it's time to start rooting for him, hard as it may be.

If he ruins Kreider though...

Baby Punisher 04-04-2013 09:42 PM

Gilroy is a no brainer. It looks more & more like Krieder isn't a Torts guy either. The jury is still out on that. Krieder get's his shot next season to prove himself from the first day of the off season & training camp.

I think I remember Torts criticizing Mac but I think it's still way too early to tell whether he's a Torts guy or not. I'm really expecting him to be. We all know he's a great fighter and is fearless. He probably throws the body around well too then. I think if anything gets Mac in trouble with Torts it will be his growing pains actually playing D at the NHL level.

Kreider Typical 04-04-2013 11:17 PM

torts just didn't have enough torts guys before to work his 'system'. now he does. return to business as usual. kreider is obviously on his list, but we'll see where it goes from here... i suspect we've seen the last of him for the season.

The Mouth 04-04-2013 11:21 PM

I'm gonna go with Zuccarello he's not North American and a skilled forward player. He hates Euros and Russians intentionally or unintentionally, Unless they played for him in T.B in which case he has a bizarre affection for you.

Stasis 04-04-2013 11:23 PM

I don't think MZA is a non-Torts guy right now... he's been playing well and is getting into everything. Noticeable when he's out there. Definitely has that jam lately =P

We have a billion player discussion threads and we have a Torts thread.

Use 'em.
