Has anyone pointed out that the Wolves are now below the playoff bar?

jigsaw99 04-08-2013 03:30 PM

#firearniel!

PRNuck 04-08-2013 04:02 PM

So has Lain had a scrap yet? I kind of expected him to fight right off the bat, but I haven't noticed one in any of the box scores (also he hasn't played the last few games, healthy scratch?)

Just saw that too. Terrible roster mismanagement this year... who the **** plays their No. 1 goalie 3 days in a row, multiple times?

canuck4life16 04-08-2013 08:53 PM

looks like less and less chance prospect in the lineup......likely no Lain, Blomstand, or Mallet

no coach would play a goalie three day in a row.:shakehead and it now that this will cost the Wolves a playoff spot because of bad decision

Can't hurt to add another center I guess. So that looks like Joslin for Groulx and Matsumoto essentially. He lit it up against the Wolves in the San Antonio series last year, btw, so hopefully he can recapture some of that form for them.

injuries have definitely affected his development but I think it is completely unfair to say that's the exclusive reason why he has not panned out as of yet. Gillis drafted him knowing he had a lot of work ahead to become a pro and have a pro game. He's always had the stick skills, good shot and skating but he was undersized. IMO part of the reason he's not anywhere near ready for an NHL chance is because he hasn't developed a physical game to write home about.

canuck4life16 04-08-2013 11:32 PM

didn't grow from his height to 6 fleet? he only 22 and if it was for those injuries.....he would be better......

Umm, I'm pretty sure the Sabres just made that guy up :sarcasm:

In spite of all of the Heat's denials, this story still has legs, it seems.

they've fired the organization, more or less, bought their own for next year. remember canucks want their prospects playing, the owners of the team just want to win. I like the idea of the nucks having their own farm team with their own players 100% win or lose, much better for the player's development.

Stefan Schneider to Peoria...

Wolves get a D-man and Canucks reassign Schneider to Peoria. Longpre also is a rental to Peoria. (Again, Wolves did the same thing to him last season.)

For some reason my eyes went to that part first. I have a lot of tables to turn back over now.

vanuck 04-09-2013 05:39 PM

Brent Regner is the D-man coming back.

Gillis has been setting that prank up for a long while

Too little too late, should've been done a month ago if Chicago is still trying to make the playoffs. Hopefully this opens up the bottom two centre spots for Lain and Mallet even with Matsumoto coming in, but who knows what Arniel is going to do.

He'd probably play Haydar as a centre before playing Lain/Mallet.

So, don't look now, but Schroeder has points in his last 6 games after being sent down. 1-7-8 over those games.

thedavid 04-10-2013 02:48 PM

Had a look at the Wolves weekly press notes and noticed this:

"Chicago has taken a lead into the third period 37 times this season, the most of any AHL club; however, the team has suffered six regulation losses when leading after two periods - the most in the league - and eight defeats overall when holding an advantage after 40 minutes of play; the Wolves are also the only team in the AHL that have yet to win a game when trailing entering the third period."

That last part blows my mind a little bit. I knew this team was bad in the 3rd but that's just ridiculous.

Also the Wolves' play-by-play guy confirms no more trades for the Wolves:

AHL roster deadline has passed looks like the additions of Matsumoto & Regner will be the final Wolves transactions for the playoff push.
