Dan Snyder award/MVP/Bill Masterton - who are your favorites?

Dan Snyder award is defined as:

"best embodies perseverance, dedication and hard work without reward or recognition, so that his team and teammates might succeed."

MVP to me is Evander Kane. 2nd in the league in shots, 13th in hits. Absolutely brings it every night, and plays with guys that belong in the 3rd line. Yet he's still a threat. Constantly gets double teamed. This guy will be a 40G+ guy in the future.

Ron Hainsey needs to win the Dan Snyder memorial award. Still no goal, yet 2nd in the league in blocked shots. Plays a simple defensive game and allows others to take offensive spotlight roles. Has worked with Bogosian well, and chewed extra minutes when needed.

Redmond is obviously our nominee for the Bill Masterton, and he should absolutely win it.

Pavelec for MVP :)

Evander Kane is definitely our MVP

Ladd definitely deserves the Snyder award.

Red for Masterton

MVP: Kane
Snyder: Stuart or Wright. Both play their butts off every shift and rarely get praised or find the scoresheet.
Masterton: Redmond

As much as guys like Slater, Wright or Stuart could win this award, I totally agree with allan5oh, Ron Hainsey wins it for me. This season, his play is exactly what this award is all about.

I'll throw one out there. What about Peluso? He saved Redmond's life. He let Redmond succeed by living.

I'd say living is great success when compared with the alternative.

I'm thinking Josh Harding could win the Masterton as well.

videofarmer 04-10-2013 01:47 PM

Most years, I would not have considered giving it to Hainsey, but yeah, I could see that this time around. Dude did give up the body a lot.

He'll probably win. Redmond's year is next year if he is able to get back that fast.

I think you have to actually come back. Harding hasn't come back.

WJG 04-11-2013 05:53 PM

Kane is in beast mode.

OmarComin 04-12-2013 05:33 PM

In my opinion the Snyder memorial award should go to Hainsey

ps241 04-12-2013 07:55 PM

Yea I think Ron should get the Snyder as well. He might be gone after this season and he was the one constant on the blue line this year and coming off an off season where he was pretty distracted it has been impressive how he has got it done for his teammates and the fans with next to no fanfare....it would be a good way to reward Ron and say goodbye if that is it.

Hainsey has been nominated for the Masterton.

I remember when I used to comment on those articles... :shakehead

Glad to see Hains being recognized. Though I think playing a solid defensive game, and blocking ALL the shots this year should be an equal part of this, as it is (nearly) an equally thankless job.

allan5oh 04-18-2013 11:40 AM

Interesting choice, I guess Redmond is next year?

sipowicz 04-18-2013 11:43 AM

MVP, clear choice: Ladd

Dan Snyder ?

Bill Masterton: Hainsey

koth 04-18-2013 11:44 AM

I think Redmond will definitely get nominated next year for the Bill Masterton Award. He isn't back playing in games yet, and with so few left, I don't think he will. It would make more sense to nominate him next year when he has actually returned to playing full time.

For MVP, it's definitely Ladd. He has driven the offense this year through his hard work and excitement.

Can someone enlighten me as to how these awards are given? Is it only the masterton that has a nominee from every team? Or is that how all the awards are voted on?

Andy6 04-18-2013 12:24 PM

I think it was that six-goal game Hainsey had that did it.

PaperRockChamp 04-18-2013 12:57 PM

Absolute joke if Hainsey was officially nominated for this trophy.
