Erik Karlsson vs. Chris Paul - Who is more valuable to their team?

Which of these athletes is more valuable to their team, the NHL's best defenseman or the NBA's best point guard?

roflstomper 04-11-2013 01:21 AM

Sens seem to be doing just fine without him and Spezza. Should probably just waive them both.

kingsboy11 04-11-2013 01:23 AM

I wish I could vote for option #4, but unfortunately I live in a primarily basketball market and know that the clippers would be sunk if they didn't have Chris Paul. I don't watch sens games, but when I look at the standings, its seems like they are doing just fine.

Kershaw 04-11-2013 01:24 AM

Chris Paul pretty much turned the Clippers franchise around to a playoff team.

Too bad he will be a Knick next season.

I Hate Chris Butler 04-11-2013 01:24 AM

No ****ing idea who Chris Paul is. Anyone who has two first names is a jackass.

Affinity 04-11-2013 01:25 AM

This is the first time in my life I've ever heard of Chris Paul.

Gritzky98 04-11-2013 01:27 AM

A single basketball player can turn a team into a contender, Chris Paul is one of those players.

bdawg1989* 04-11-2013 01:30 AM

Basketballs is one terrible sport to watch.. Oh the game ended 118-107. Amazing. Not.

Love 04-11-2013 01:41 AM

As a bigger fan of bball than I am for hockey I can tell you Chris Paul is definitely more valuable. Clippers would be pretty bad without him.

Seriously, you guys are sports fans and have never heard of Chris Paul? Thats really surprising to me.

The Expert 04-11-2013 01:46 AM

Basketball sucks.

Billy Mays Here 04-11-2013 01:48 AM

Basketball?

**** basketball.

umad 04-11-2013 01:57 AM

Any sport that isn't hockey is bad and you should feel bad!

Am I doing it right?

Anyways, Chris Paul.

Benny FTW 04-11-2013 02:09 AM

Basketball is a essentially a 1 player sport.

GuineaPig 04-11-2013 02:10 AM

Individual players have a much greater influence in basketball. So it's Chris Paul.

This^^

Honestly an era superstar in basketball (like chris paul) might have a greater effect on games than an all time great (gretz, orr, etc.) in hockey.

PAZ 04-11-2013 02:51 AM

Compare him to Crosby and you'd have a decent poll.

Pretty much this. The sport is inherently different. One player makes a way bigger impact in basketball than one can in hockey. Take Chris Paul off the clippers, they'd struggle to get the 7th/8th seed.

In that sense, he's even more important than Crosby (just because of the difference in sports). Take Crosby off the Pens, they'd still get the 8th seed at the very least IMO. In the tough NBA western conference, I can't see the Clippers having a definitive advantage over Harden's Rockets, the Lakers, or the GS Warriors. They don't even make the playoffs without CP3. The same way the Cavs were fighting for the worst team in the league once you eliminated Lebron from the equation.

crazy Kassian 04-11-2013 04:34 AM

pretty honest poll results

Ferros 04-11-2013 05:19 AM

I went with the "basketball sucks" option. :D

Kyle93 04-11-2013 06:27 AM

I'm a pretty big sports fan and watch basketball sometimes but this is the first I have ever heard of Chris Paul

Sureves 04-11-2013 07:26 AM

Karlsson easily, Chris Paul doesn't even PK!

The Nose 04-11-2013 08:06 AM

Basketball and Hockey players can't be compared. There are 5 players playing at once in basketball and 16 players plus a goalie.
