Blues to wear White Road Jerseys against 'hawks

Just saw this on G+.....why not just wear home jerseys and autograph them? Are they now considering their road whites to be good luck?

The Blues will wear road white jerseys at Scottrade Center on April 14 vs. Chicago. Jerseys will be auctioned to benefit the Blues 14 Fund.

They should wear their whites at home all the time.

Black marker on navy is not very high contrast.

Autographs look way better on a white Jersey.

I really wish the NHL would go back to the white jerseys at home.

Why? White isn't unique from team to team. You also always know who the away team is, while the home team is wearing their color.

I go back and forth on this issue in my head.

I like the idea that the home is always white. White jerseys typically (though not always) look the cleanest. And there's symbolism there about the "white knight" and all. And it's just as easy for the crowd to know that the home team always wears white.

But the darker colored jerseys allow for more options on 3rd jerseys, and that actually is pretty cool.

Since they've changed the design of the blue jersey from the old blue with the red across the bottom, I think the new one looks pretty sharp. Of course they could always go back to alternating which was home & away for 1/2 a season.

Having seen years of both, white at home just feels more right.

These should be the home whites and these should be the road blues. Two best eras of Blues unis.

I'm on the opposite side of this issue. Say you are a Blues season ticket holder. Every game you attend, the color scheme is blue vs. white. If the whites were worn at home, you'd have white vs. an assortment of colors, so there would be a variety. Or maybe the NHL could be more like soccer and let teams wear whatever uniform set as long as they don't match, i.e. blue vs. red if the Hawks are in town.

That's a great point, and one I hadn't considered. That has to get so friggin' boring to see, if you're a season ticket holder.

Also agree on the latter point: as long as the main color doesn't match, let them wear whichever jersey they want. Have a Blues jersey and an alternate jersey. If you want a third jersey, go right ahead. And a vintage? By all means. Wear one each period, as long as it doesn't match the opposite team, lol.

I agree with both of these and similar statements made by others.
