Inch for inch Chara is the softest player in the league.

Jacl Edwards sucks at announcing too.

Number13 04-14-2013 01:50 AM

Oh man, the homer announcers kill me. Harrison jumped him??

I know I was like WTH? Looked like Chara popped him first.

David Koci might say otherwise

Yeah cuz jack is the ultimate homer

legendinblue 04-14-2013 03:34 AM

Chara just isn't a good fighter.

McDooRoo 04-14-2013 03:53 AM

The Boston announcers are the worst homers I've ever heard, well Colorado's are right up there too.

I'm not a fan of home team announcers because of the homerish announcers, but Boston's have got to be the worst

No other play by play crew compliments the other team as much as Haynes and McNab, quite honestly they rave so much about other teams players that it sometimes gets on my nerves.

Jack Edwards is a tool, but I think the Pens duo is the worst by far.

Chara with the easy win.

tarheelhockey 04-14-2013 09:13 AM

As far as "jumping" is concerned, the Carolina crew put it more eloquently -- Harrison put Chara in a position where he had no choice but to fight. That took Chara off the ice for the ensuing PP, on which the Canes scored, got the crowd into the game and raised the blood pressure on both benches. Carolina goes on to win their first home game in 8 tries.

Perfect example of a fight affecting the outcome of a game. The Hurricanes players were giving Harrison props in postgame interviews for stepping in against a guy well outside his class, and risking an epic beatdown, for the sake of the team.

WildcatMapleLeafs28 04-14-2013 09:33 AM

Props to Harrison. He may not have won the fight but won the war. Took Chara off the ice and the Cane's scored... Harrison was smart and effective.

I dont mind listening to the play by play by Boston during game play but once the rough stuff starts Edwards is a complete tool. Dont poke the bear... why? Because he might have a very small edge in a fight against you where no damage is done?

Chara is a very overrated fighter, he bloodied up Koci and ragdolled McCabe and goes off that reputation now

Renner* 04-14-2013 11:58 AM

This is Jack edwards at his worst lmao what an idiot.

Jay Harrison is obv a little nutty. He completely started that fight when Chara was just going in tie things up a bit and Harrison starts throwing them pretty much lol.

Not really much of a fight, did anyone really land a meaningful punch? Chara does what he normally does and uses his reach and size to bring the player down. Bah...

DJ Breadman 04-14-2013 02:47 PM

edwards is a meatball and so is chara, harrison gave him a good go

2CHAINZ 04-14-2013 03:40 PM

Bro don't poke the bear

RSeen 04-14-2013 03:54 PM

Stupid homer Boston announcers. Chara threw the first punch and they say Harrison jumped him LOL. Yeah Chara maybe won it slightly but it was really close, but you wouldn't be able to tell by listening to these jokes.

Gene Parmesan 04-14-2013 04:15 PM

The bear was poked and then went back into hibernation. Smart move by Harrison.

They really are. That fight wasn't nearly the win for Chara that Jack said it was. Even the Thornton fight they oversold as a Thornton beatdown.

I love Jack's enthusiasm for sure but you can't take anything he says about what's going on in the game as a fact.

And yes, I have watched a few games.

Homeland Security 04-14-2013 07:56 PM

Who gives a crap about the announcers. Focus on the fight.
