Mexican Coca-Cola

Have you ever tried Mexican Coca-Cola? Supposedly, it's a lot better and makes your eyes water.

Francesa 04-16-2013 02:40 PM

Yeah, there's something about how much sweeter it is compared to regular Coke

NEver had the opportunity to try it though

Krishna 04-16-2013 02:43 PM

This pops up on here all the time

They use regular sugar instead of HFCS

It tastes better

Primrose Everdeen 04-16-2013 02:43 PM

It's sweetened with cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup.

Primrose Everdeen 04-16-2013 02:44 PM

Not just Mexican either. Soda is sweetened with sugar and not HFCS pretty much anywhere outside the USA and Canada.

This is the correct answer

Live in the Now 04-16-2013 02:49 PM

It's everywhere here and it's the best.

Mexican items in and around LA?

I never would have guessed it.

Primrose Everdeen 04-16-2013 02:51 PM

It's also sold in glass bottles. Makes a big difference.

Coke in the UK is disgusting. Can't remember what the label said had in it but it made a big difference.

They probably served it warm.

Warm pop is horrible.

No Fun Shogun 04-16-2013 03:49 PM

I've had it once or twice before. Can't say that it left a lasting impact on me, so obviously didn't think it was any better than regular Coke.

And now that I'm permanently on diet sodas, doubt I'll ever have a Mexican Coke again.

ChiGuySez 04-16-2013 03:50 PM

They use Mexican water. :help:

robert terwilliger 04-16-2013 03:54 PM

only get sold here during passover. it has a yellow cap.

KRM 04-16-2013 03:58 PM

What about Mexican Pepsi?

I've had both and think Mexican Pepsi is better than Mexican Coke. I bought some last year from Wegman's. they use the early 90's logo on the bottle. Those Pepsi/Mountain Dew throwbacks aren't bad either.

If you live in a town with a big Jewish population, there's a Kosher Coke with sugar that's around during Passover and such in 2 liter bottles. I think it has a yellow cap with the Star of David on it.

Not sure if it's around anymore, but Dublin Dr. Pepper in Texas uses the original formula and glass bottles too.

Novacane 04-16-2013 04:14 PM

It's better.

Inub0i 04-16-2013 04:15 PM

Mexican Coke is amazing. real Cane sugar and none of that High fructose corn syrup crap.

Modo 04-16-2013 04:27 PM

There's a burrito joint nearby that sells it, costs about $2.50 per bottle though.

Tastes good, but I wouldn't say it's head and shoulders above the usual stuff.

deytookerjaabs 04-16-2013 04:44 PM

Someone should whip up a batch of this stuff:

http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radi...-recipe/recipe

Supposedly the original recipe.

DrFeelgood 04-16-2013 05:08 PM

Jones Soda is better anyway

Greeningfan14 04-16-2013 05:19 PM

Sounds interesting.
