Random Oracle 04-17-2013 04:38 AM

Pens have a large lead for the #1 seed in the East and can't realistically catch Chicago for the President's Trophy. It would be nice to get a win here, but this is ultimately a rather meaningless game. I'd rest Malkin for this game if that's needed for him to be 100% for the playoffs.

#1 seed in the East is what I'm talking about. Chicago has the Presidents trophy all but wrapped up. The Pens need just 6 points to clinch (less with Boston and Montreal losses) the East.

Le Magnifique 66 04-17-2013 07:38 AM

Just win please, I don't want to hear any idiots (mod edit) from my office tomorrow

Let's Go Pens

Warm Cookies 04-17-2013 07:41 AM

Slick GDT!

Candyman 04-17-2013 07:51 AM

I'm way more excited than usual for this game. My dad recently found the "share screen" part of skype, so for the first time in nearly a year (When i was living at home) we're going to be able to watch the game together via skype. Lets Go Pens! I'm going to also take the high road here and say Win it for Boston! Seeing as the Bruins are still trying to win that division it would help them.

nTsplnk* 04-17-2013 07:53 AM

What an awesome GDT!

Going to the game tonight, can't wait to see em play!

Dying Alive 04-17-2013 08:06 AM

I've officially reached the point where I really don't care if they win or lose as long as nobody else gets hurt.

Yeah... i don't care either way. Just pleassssse no injuries. With a decent layoff, I expect us to come out sloppy. Montreal has to be hungry after being embarrassed at home against Philly. Just two different mentalities tonight.

However, I was shocked at how we battled against Tampa.

12IsGreaterThan47 04-17-2013 09:07 AM

awesome GDT!

Agree with DA and CP!

I'll leave this here: http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/bob_mckenzie/?id=420953

ColePens 04-17-2013 09:10 AM

Holy ****, HT. The GDT didn't load the first time for me - but wow. :amazed: DAMN good stuff.

Looks like optional morning skate for #Pens: 14 16 48 10 9 19 15 46 27 17 71 5 41 47 4 3 2 58 92 29 on the ice

Regulation win for Pgh. vs. Mont. would cut magic number for finishing ahead of Habs to 1 because of tiebreaker. OT/SO win would cut it to 2

Dying Alive 04-17-2013 09:39 AM

Trying to figure out who's missing from the optional skate. Looks like Orpik and Jokinen.

Edit...and Iginla and Cooke.

LGP6687 04-17-2013 09:45 AM

We really need to fix the PK before the playoffs. We know the refs are going to call on us if we even fart wrong. Gotta be prepared. =)

Shrimper 04-17-2013 09:51 AM

Would love to see Letang have a multi-point game and Subban kept scoreless.

Subban has 36 in 36. Letang has 30 in 30. If Letang got near him in points, say 1 or 2 behind you'd have to think he'd be a strong contender for the Norris.

Would also like to see a good game from Iginla, a goal or two would be nice! Win tonight and the #1 seed is all but ours. Would only need 1 more win if Boston lose tonight or 2 if they win.

dr robbie 04-17-2013 10:22 AM

Great GDT! I know the game is mostly meaningless, but LETS GO PENS! Lets get some momentum into the playoffs this year! (oh yeah, and don't nobody get hurt okay ;))

Le Magnifique 66 04-17-2013 10:31 AM

Michael Ryder will not play for the Habs tonight

Smacker 04-17-2013 10:50 AM

Flower will start in goal.

Great GDT! LGP!

DB was talking to the media today about the people who talk about Sid needing better wingers(allot of them on this board)and how Dupuis and Kunitz have changed peoples opinion of Sid needing wingers. Based on DB comments i think its pretty safe to assume DB is still planning on keeping Sid Kunitz Dupuis together.

Lets hope not. Neal and Iginla on the same line doesn't work.

InGENEious 04-17-2013 11:25 AM

Sick GDT! Glad to see Vitale and Despres both penciled in for this one:yo:

DB's biggest problem is his stubborness. Seriously, anybody who follows the Pens know that Dupuis doesn't need Sid and that Iginla's game fits Sid's to a pulp. Finally, we ALL know that using Dupuis on L3 makes us a better and deeper team. There is absolutely no logic at all in keeping Dupuis, Kunitz and Crosby together even if they have good chemistry.

Not really. Dupuis needs to be moved to Crosby's LW and Iginla on his RW, while reuniting the Kunitz-Malkin-Neal line. Morrow is better suited on the third line. On a Morrow-Sutter-Cooke line, Sutter provides enough skill. It doesn't need to be a flashy line, it needs to be a line that is difficult and grueling for other teams to play against.

I already said this and you really could see it from a mile away.

cheesedanish87 04-17-2013 11:50 AM

This has nothing to do with what line i think Iginla should be on, But if the only way Iginla can produce is with Sid hes not the player i was expecting, If he stays on the line with Jokinen and Kunitz til we get healthy there good enough players that Iginla should't have a problem creating chances and scoring goals.
